Wes Brown could be out for the year

Premier League Manchester United

Wes Brown has had surgery on his problem ankle which could rule him out for the rest of the year.

The Manchester United defender, 29, last played in the 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park on October 25.

His absence has allowed club captain Gary Neville to step back into the fray along with up-and-coming Brazilian Rafael de Silva.

stopped reading when I saw you don't go to games, tbh I cannot take seriously someone who doesn't watch games live on a regular basis.

But I'm sure you will find many like minded opinions who agree with you

And I stopped reading when I realised you have difficulty with the English Language..have a read of my post again and tell me where I said I don't go to games..deary me..but your post lends perfect support to my argument about how if you go, you're entitled to more of an opinion..arf arf..most of the people in there have never played the game before in their lives and are far too cut to realise what's going on..to be honest I can't take seriously someone who can't read!!

Here's a report on that tackle i mentioned which must go down as one of the most brainless pieces of defending i have ever had the misfortune to witness

"it gave Brian McBride the opportunity to slide in, rob the Irishman and push a pass into the box aimed at Luis Boa Morte.

Wes Brown looked favourite to get there first but inexplicably, the England international missed the ball completely and succeeded only in wiping out Boa Morte, leaving referee Rob Styles with no option but to award the spot-kick which Malbranque smashed home with clinical efficiency."

Spanner at work is living up to his name, I see.

Brown is a capable defender nothing more nothing less, he is getting into the squad because Neville is over the hill so to speak and Rafeal isn't ready, quite, I see him more of a stop gap than a player of real talent.

I will miss Brown's Orangey glow, it always make me think the colour needs adjusting on the tv, but I have been assured that he is actually an oompa loompa on steroids. As for Berbatoss, United won't really miss him that much

This is a huge danger game for us tonight, with Chelsea and Liverpool in such efficent form, we cannot afford to drift any further behind in the league. Playing Rafael is an attacking move, a move that I hope SAF is prepared to make. We need 3 points here, because I cant see Chelsea or Liverpool slipping up here. Some will say 6-10 points can be made up in the league, but although I can imagine Liverpool imploding at some point of the campaign, I cant see it happening with Chelsea. I can see them topping the 90 points this season.

Chelsea have a point to prove after the slip ups last season..we've got no one to blame except ourselves, if we hadn't thrown away so many games we would've cantered home. This season United are in a similar position, leaking goals and not killing off games. This is a vital game for United and I believe Villa need to win it also, it should be a great game with some heavy tackles flying in from both sides. United can't afford to lose! Brown is more of a loss than Berba, who I feel is a luxury player at the moment. Tevez will be much more effective today. However, you are open to problems when your fullbacks push forward because Villa have the pace to counter attack and the power in the air from set pieces should United resort to fouling. Carew and Laursen are a handful and Young delivers a great cross. Interesting game. I expect United to try and Take the initiative immediately and shock Villa, but Hopefully o Neills alive to it.

...I confess to being one of those fans! I have never been a football pitch, not even a 5-a-side pitch - not even a subuteo pitch!
I was a putting green for a few months though...

p.s. back on the topic, Brown is not out for a year, but till the END OF the year...
