Anyone else fed up with Ecclestone

I never really used to have a problem with Ecclestone, but over the last few months some have his decisions have been outrageous.First he drops Canada, one of the most famous and entertaining races on the calendar. Then he gives the prestigious season finale to Abu Dhabi - let me guess that decision was all about the extra drama and exitement their circuit will offer. But perhaps more outrageously; i read today that should Donnington not be ready for 2010 Ecclestone will simply drop the British GP until it is. Silverstone has received record ticket sales for next year on the back of Lewis's world championship, but that doesn't bother Bernie. When Alonso was champion the F1 fans were rewarded with a second race in spain, and it produced arguably the worst race of the season. Now that Lewis is champion Ecclestone's strategic masterplan is to drop the british gp.

The French Grand Prix is and has always been rubbish.
Let Bernie build a better circuit elsewhere. Like Paris...

If Magny Cours is boring what can we say about other circuits, especially Valencia and Singapore at night.

Maybe soon Slavica will be running F1 and hopefully Bernie will be in a retirement home racing wheelchairs

Of course most people are fed up with the way the sport has "progressed" in the last few years.

-------------

Absolute rubbish.

Just try to compare the sport now to 10-15 years ago.

Back then driver aids were so prevelent that drivers needed half the skill that they do now.

Back then drivers were still dieing in accidents.

Back then joke teams were a problem in F1 with some ending up 8 laps behind the leaders.

Back then the sport was a closed shop European operation.

Back then regularly half the grid did not finish the races due to all the extra on the car that were poorly engineered.

Contrast that with this year (and even moe so next) where drivers are again properly tested.

Safety has improved immensely, both due to changes to the car and to the tracks.

There are no joke teams anymore, even Aguri and Force are competetive.

The sport has expanded to become huge in Asia.

New regulations forcing better engineering mean that regularly 8%+ of th grid finish the race, most of them on the same lap.

Most of the new tracks are good tracks, it is not their fault that overtakin has not happenned, that has been much more to do with the aero packages, you will see much more action next year as a result on most of the new circuits. The only exceptions being Valencia (which I agree was a mistake) and singapore (which deserves a couple years to prove itself).

Frankly all this Ecclestone hating is the same stupid jealousy that see people complaining about anyone who is successful. If people did not feel he was doing a good job he would have een replaced.

Bernie isn't strictly the F1 Boss, Max is the President of the FIA which governs F1, Bernie is in charge of the Promotional affairs.

Ecclestone has no real interest in the sport he is just interested in lining his very deep pockets, and that of the ferrari team.Hopefully his wife will take him to the cleaners but of course that will mean we will all have to pay more for F1.

Canada out, France out in 2010,China considering pulling out, British going to Donnington. The people in the know are starting to suss the little person out.Let's not kid ourselves, the small one doesn't do anything other than what's good for him. Also remember that if he gets his way all Asian and Australasian races will be at night.......for the locals,no, for the big euro tv money.

Now my dream scenario for first BBC F1 broadcast :-

Scene; an f1 grid somewhere

small bloke; Hallo Martin

Martin; WHACK !!

small bloke; ow !! dat's by dose

Ecclestone has made a fortune from F1, and his decisions seem to be predicated on how much he gets out of each race. The fans, who should matter the most, matter the least insofar as they pay to watch and thus put money into the pot; and in China they don't even do that. It's the sponsors and foreign Governments who matter because they effectively pay for Bernie's demands. The highest bidder gets the race, which has nothing to do with excitement, entertainment, sport, the fans or racing even. Ecclestone's pockets rule!

No French Grand Prix,Bernie you have got to be joking. This is one of the absolute classic historic GP countries. You are destroying the very roots of the sport, taking away the races from coutries that from day one have supported and run GP's,What with Britain under threat what next Germany and dare I say it Italy.Your personally destroying the very roots of the sport and all that history and support built up from the very beginnings of motor racing are being ruined, and for no good reason other than greed. The history of the sport is made by those who more and more seem under threat.I for one feel it's a very sad day indeed.Motor sport should protect it's heritage,it's past and think of this if it wants a future.

The sooner Bernie Ecclestone leaves Formula 1 to be run as sport and not his own personal money making machine the better...
