Ticket protest

Premier League Manchester United
comment on the article

What do you think about the way your club treats you as season ticket holders at Manchester United?

Are you one of those who have complained to the government about being charged for FA Cup and Champions League tickets whether you want them or not?

Or is it just the price you have to pay these days to watch your club as you can guarantee that if you didn't adhere to the rules, then someone else would.

dan,
dont be such an arse...
whatever you may believe United are a lot of reds local team!
Who made the deal with the Devil?
Were any of us given a choice?
You can be smug cos something like this could never happen at a Blackburn or a Wigan, because you dont sell out every week!
But we are fans of our club, just as you are fans of yours...
Can people not put aside petty rivalries and just have some empathy with other fans?

I see DanBlackburn has jumped on the 'out of town' bandwagon like an idiot.

If he actually went to Ewood he'd know that a fair few Mancs take over that ground every season!

You have to ask yourself whether genuine fans of real clubs really care ?
Man Utd "fans" have a choice, either pay or don't pay. When you make a deal with the devil then there is no point trying to take the moral high ground.
The other alternative is to support your local team. I know they may not win trophies, but you could also find your self respect returns.

Manchester United IS my local team along with most match goers at the club. My 'choice' not to pay for my season ticket was forced upon me by the club by pricing me out! 2 seasons ago I had the 'choice' of paying to see the team. Now I have no choice but to stay at home or go to the pub.

Deary me, I have hit a nerve.
I would hardly say I was jumping on a bandwagon. Tens of thousands of glotyhunters descending on the Theatre of Silence is a fact of life my friends. Do you expect me to like the financial clout that brings ? Or the power with the FA and referees. Sorry chaps, most real fans loath Man U. Its not jealousy or sour grapes, more a frustration that gloryhunters have ruined any competition in football (Liverpool - you know who you are).
Also I have been a season ticket holder at Ewood for 25 years and yes I have been witness to some of the charming cosmopolitan Mancs that grace our little mill town....ahem.
I accept there are a few local loyal fans but you are outnumbered by literally millions who indeed, jump on the bandwagon, hence I just hope the Glaziers bring financial ruin. It couldn't happen to a nicer club.

This ticket policy is pure greed and possibly illegal. Families with children cannot afford going to the matches any more unless they are rich. Revenues from ticket selling are only a really tiny part of ManU income. Income comes firstly from tv-rights and secondly from merchandising. To punish their own fans with these dirty practices is nothing but innecessary greed

"Tens of thousands of glotyhunters descending on the Theatre of Silence is a fact of life my friends"

Do you have any evidence to prove these 'facts'? Or are you just a typical Sun reader that believes the 'no reds in Manchester' myth?

"Its not jealousy or sour grapes"

Of course it isn't?
doh,

"I have been a season ticket holder at Ewood for 25 years and yes I have been witness to some of the charming cosmopolitan Mancs that grace our little mill town....ahem."

Think its anything as bad as two Rovers fans beating up a blind United supporter and his mate? Yes that right outside the ground after we knocked you down in 99!

"I accept there are a few local loyal fans but you are outnumbered by literally millions who indeed, jump on the bandwagon"

Listen, we've had the highest averages in Britain for over 50 years, yet we've only really been successful for the last 15, I suppose the big crowds we had back in the 70's and 80's were all glory-hunters were they?

Think about it before you answer, and stay OFF that bandwagon!

most city fans i know are as unhappy with the ticket prices at COMS as fans of other clubs

Wait till next April/May, the bubble will burst for all premiership clubs as season ticket sales fall

Why are the fans turning on the club that they are supposed to love on the basis that they are given 1st refusal on cup games?

Would it be fair if the club removed cup matches from the season tickets and charged the same price?"

Firstly it is not about 1st refusal, we can opt out of the Carling Cup if we want but have to pay for the home FA Cup & CL games.
Secondly this cost is on top of the season ticket as the season ticket only covers the Premier League home games.

I am a loyal fan who loves to watch every home game, however as the mother of a 1 year old I can't always get childcare for midweek games which is why I opted out of the Carling Cup this year.

There are times where fans cannot get to games for a number of reasons. So why should we have to pay for cups we may not be able to attend for valid reasons. I also would not expect to get a ticket for a final ahead of those who had been to every game if I opted not to go to the qualifying legs

I wholly agree that the Automatic Cup scheme is fantastic if you can attend all games & want to opt in to ensure your ticket without applying, but as I said earlier it should be optionally to take part & not part of the T&C's of the season ticket.

As mentioned on here people who have been unable to pay for the cup games as & when they have come up have also lost the season ticket they paid up front for.

Surely it is fairer to have the option & if you can't be bothered to attend the cup matches cos you don't like the opposition early on you should not bleat when you can't get a ticket for the final
