GWELEDCOCH15 (U11219780) posted Nov 19, 2008 Hope Lydon, as Head of development brings more to the Welsh rugby scene than Iestyn Harries did as a player. Agree with other comments regarding what he did for the English back play 2004-2006, but his motive may be to learn from our gifted natural backs and then join Shaun Edwards who will eventually be poached by England.

WelshLadGareth (U12299065) posted Nov 19, 2008 Ex England back coach 2004 - 2006. 2004 was about the time since their backline haven't been good. So what qualities is he bringing to the taffs exactly?

vencejo (U8510978) posted Nov 19, 2008 He was an excellent winger and full-back for Wigan. posted Nov 19, 2008 I think his brief is to focus on conditioning in general. League players are pretty fit so he might be a good choice. I don't think he's got a coaching remit: let's hope not, for wales sake, as the England back division was not impressive during his tenure as coach.

JoePentyrch (U10774200) posted Nov 21, 2008 The guy is a legend of rugby league, and they have always developed technically superb ball players. I believe he will add tangibly to the set up and ultimately prove a success, because he has seen what worked and what did not work at the RFU. Comment on this article
Sorry, you can only contribute to 606 during opening hours. These are 0900-2300 UK time, seven days a week, but may vary to accommodate sporting events and UK public holidays.
