BENAYOUN UNHAPPY.!!!

Premier League Liverpool
comment on the article

IT is reported that Yossi Benayoun will consider leaving
Liverpool if he is not playing regular football.
While I symphathise with him, I am totally disappointed
that he is speaking to the press.

If he is not playing regularly, it is left for him to
improve in the areas where he is not good enough.
He cannot hold the club to ransom.

I agreed with everything you said apart from one thing (Lucas Leiva improving)i think the man is a liability, the spurs game in the carling cup being a prime example. These are the sort of games he has to be making a name for himself and putting pressure on the more regular first team players and for me he doesn't do that.

As good as gone. Benny is not stupid, he is going to say he that he wants him. Just until he gets some offers come in and then bye bye.
He cannot believe that he deserves first team football ahead of the players that are currently making up the first team. They are playing good football.
Bye Yossi, thanks for help but dont speak to the press.

Benayoun was a good player for west Ham, quite a top player, Benitez knew what he was doing bringing him over. We wanted wingers and we got them in Pennant, Benayoun and they can both play on either wing.

Pennant is a good player, good winger but he needs to focus on his game some more to improve even further and establish himself but Pennant for me faces demons off the pitch he has yet to deal with and until he does he cannot be the person we want to channel his focus into his football with us.

Benayoun has also lost a little focus. He may expect he should play each game, and you may think that from any EPL player. But the quality required to be a regular is something one needs to expel in every game they play and that is what will establish them as a regular choice.

Carragher being fit, plays. Gerrard being fit, plays. Mascherano being fit, plays. Kuyt being fit, plays. Alonso being fit, plays. Of course RB could mix things up, plays 4-4-2 with one DCM and an ACM, or the 4-5-1 with an extra CM or a SS, where Benayoun could step in as. Benitez could play a system which doesn't depend on the qualities of Benayoun, and we all know that isn't always the choice every game.

As a result, Yussi could find he is required one match and then not the other. If he did say about playing every game, he cannot expect to do so until he contributes to a number of factors every game he plays. Something which will make RB stand up and say 'Yes, I would like you to start the next game....', and so on and so on.

Bottom line is I want Yossi to remain, good useful player to have in attack. He's smart, links up well in attack, can play the short assists in front of goal sneakily. I hope any disgruntlement he is feeling will channel him to play even better the next time he does.

Ha ha ha, Love the way British media is trying to unsettle Liverpool. After Skrtel was found unhappy, now its Benayoun. Remeber a while back it was Agger. This only reflects the quality in our side this season!!!!!!!
I personally love Yossi and I know he will stay till at least the summer. Go Yossi..................

Benayoun is a good attacking player who I've always felt pleased to see coming on if we were losing or drawing a game, since he is a type of player who has that ability to get past players and do something different. A good example is the game at Wigan last season, it was a 0-0 draw until Yossi came on and got the winning goal. If anyone can pick the lock of a defence (instead of trying to break down the door), then he can.

But still, he can't expect to be starting every game. He's simply not in the class of Gerrard, Torres, Alonso, Keane, Riera or even Kuyt or Babel in some ways. He's not very strong or athletic, and can end up on the fringes of a game (or the opposite, cutting inside too often and leaving the wings unmanned) very easily. He seems to be a good impact sub, but little more, except a temporary starter in Euro games to give others a rest.

Totally agree with others here about El Zhar. Against Standard Liege in the CL qualifier he impressed me the most when he came on and looked to be the biggest goal threat on a night when it seemed like no-one else could do it for us. Again recently against Tottenham (from what I could bear to watch of it) he looked like the best player on the park while others like Lucas and Dossena (an awful buy) looked lost. The simple fact seems to be that Rafa doesn't want to play a system where we need a right-winger, as in a real winger, which is not what Dirk Kuyt is. Hopefully he might start to give El Zhar and Pennant a few more chances as the season wears on and players get tired or injured. This is one import to the academy who looks to have real potential.

The whole Pennant issue is a different debate altogether. I hope it doesn't end up like the end of Patrik Berger's time at the club, where we desperately needed a skilful left -winger and there was a prime example sitting on the bench or in the reserves, simply because he fell out of favour with Houllier. It seems like that to me though - Pennant isn't getting games not because he isn't good enough, but because he's not part of the manager's plans. If he stays and gets a run in the team it'll be good but if he leaves in January and a better replacement comes in then so much the better. Unfortunately I don't think Lennon, as good a player as he is, would be tempted to join us now after the run Spurs have been on lately. The important thing is, we're in good form at the right time right now, regardless of who is or isn't playing for us!

Benayoun is a good player, but for a very top club good players are not good enough to be regulars. He is never going to be good enough to demand a regular place in the side and if it wasn't for Rafas rotation policy he would have played a lot less this season so far.

He does have quality about him but he doesn't half dwindle on the ball sometimes when he doesn't need to or a pass is on.

A top four club needs players on a higher quality to progress and Benayoun just isn't good enough to play regulary for a top 4 club. Decent fellow but i'd rather sell him on while we can (credit crunch and all lol).

Sell him and put it towards another defender in January because we are slightly short in defence. One injury to Carra or Agger and we're buggered because poor Sami's legs have gone.

Benayoun is an ok league player, he's not a top player and he doesn't make any difference. He's one of the players who make Liverpool be 4th in the Premiership, not better and not worse. To be better than that -like currently- Liverpool need less Benayouns and more Rieras. He should go and a better player should come for him

I think if benayoun left it would make absoloutley no difference to liverpool what so ever. If he's unhappy let him leave. Bring in another luis garcia- at least he scored some great goals.

If every premiership player wanted to leave their club because they were not playing regularly, players would be switching clubs every transfer window. God help us if players like Babel felt the same way.

In my humble opinion, i think Benayoun has a right to want to play more, but just as much as supporters generally feel that although he has not been a disappointment, he will generally play second fiddle to the current full strength liverpool midfield. (e.g. gerrard, alonso, riera, kuyt)

if you look back at players like luis garcia, vladimir smicer, patrick berger, danny murphy, jamie redknapp, or momo sissoko, they undoubtedly did well for us, and of course contributed in defining matches in their time for us, scoring important goals for us, and played their hearts out for the club.

However, i don't personally believe most LFC supporters (as did happen for the other good players just mentioned) would lose too much sleep over Benayoun wanting to leave for more games. Where would he go? Arsenal? Man Utd? Chelsea? How about Newcastle, Tottenham, or Stoke?

And as a possible replacement, I'd like to see Rafa give one or two of our yougsters a chance to prove themselves in the first team as well, players like Babbel, Spearing, El Zhar or Pacheco. I think it would be good for them to get more first team experience with an already very experienced Liverpool first team.
