Hatton vs Malignaggi

Light welter

Obviously it is not as much as a high profile fight as UNDEFEATED but do we think that Hatton has handled himself better before this fight. He seems to make Malignaggi's comments seem childish when he was doing the same thing a few months ago. Could this be Mayweather Snr's influence or has he learned from his mistake from his last fight? Or was it not a mistake at all so is he not being himself before this fight?

LRR I expected better of you..... But all those who think Malignaggi is some rubbish boxer I think you are all quite mistaken. He has a good chimn and is a good boxer, he hasn't had many knockouts but he has fought some tough guys.
Anyone who lasts 12 rounds with Cotto (although LRR he lost quite convincingly so I don't what you are talking about, I hate JC - cos he is a fraud, but Malignaggi is some way away from what you desribe!) has to be a decent fighter.
I am worried for Ricky but I hope he has enough to come through, I definately think he can do it, but it will not be a stroll in the park, Malliagnaggi is a far tougher proposition than Lazcano, and Urango for that matter!

Hey Paulie is no bum admittedly he does not throw bombs but he has some silky skills and the heart and chin of a lion, like he says it's boxing not 'it's a knockout'. I think he could cause little Ricky some problems, lets see if Floyd snr has reminded him how to move his head from side to side and has stopped him from lunging in wildly with his first punch - Naseem esq which we all know NEVER EVER WORKS!!!.

Obvious PBF is going to comeback. He is not the legend he hopes if he stays retired and is not being talked about much in the way of Ali, SRR.

WHy does paul belittle hatton so much. Paul Maligni cant be that good can he? He dont sound tough to me with his voice and his looks.

Ricky Hatton was lucky to get the Mayweather fight, and his "beer, pies and braun" culture was heavily exposed as he was taken to school by a far superior fighter. Hatton to beat the Magic Man on points then get pasted by the winner of De La Hoya/Pacquio.

always entertaining when the new guys see their first LRR post. Don't worry guys it isn't anything personal bubbly

Malignaggi blows hot and cold. At his best he's slick, quick and flashy, at his worst he's just flashy. If he brings his 'A' game he could be awkward for ricky who is at his best in slugfests.

Can't get any enthusiasm up for this fight. I don't rate either fighter particularly highly. Though a win would set up ricky's next cash fest with pacman or oscar.

A Yank here.

Malignaggi is crap, trust me. I doubt he could knock out your kid sister. He has a mere flick of a jab, no left hook and a right cross that he seldom uses. He'll throw a few quick punches which hurt nobody, build some points, then spend the rest of the round ducking and diving.

Hatton shouldn't be troubled by this bum. How he ever became world champion is a mystery.

Oh yeah, one other thing. Malignaggi is a clown. His last fight was against some South African guy........Lovemore Ndou. Anyways, Malignaggi comes into the ring with shoulder length dreadlocks tied back in a pony tail. The fight begins and he starts dancing all over the map as usual and his dreadlocks come loose. They fall in front of his face and he can't see what he's doing. He spends most of the first round brushing the hair out of his eyes. The ref sees it, steps in and orders Malignaggi's seconds to cut his hair.

Ever seen a boxer get a haircut in the ring, during a world championship fight? I mean, seriously! Here's Malignaggi on his stool with his trainer trimming his hair!

What a joke!

For the record, Malignaggi won a split decision but Love was robbed, IMHO.

Where are all the boxing experts this morning who were saying Ricky is past it, and Paulie will outbox him etc. etc?
