Hey up all and welcome to the official thread for The 606 Cup. This article will tell you what this Cup is about, all the details regarding the Cup and how you can get involved.

What It's About:

The 606 cup is a charity tournament solely for BBC 606 users. The main aim is to raise money for Sport Relief, but that's not the only reason I have set this cup up...

No barriers - Regardless of age, ability, gender, race you are able to play in this cup so long as you are a BBC 606 user and can get there. It's all for a good cause and for people who love football so I wont stop anyone from taking part. I will explain later in the article about how to get involved.

Rivalries - I've been careful with the teams I've entered because between a few clubs there are deep rivalries, which lead to hate and I believe that if we can all get together for a good cause some of that hate between us will disappear, even if only on a small scale. The teams taking part are listed in this article further below.

Details:

Title: The 606 Cup
Charity: Sport Relief

Date: Sunday 15th February
Venue: Victoria Embankment, Nottingham, NG2 2JY
Time: 1pm-5pm

Participants:

- Leeds,
- Nottingham,
- Leicester,
- Tottenham,
- Coventry,
- Aston Villa,
- Sheffield Wednesday,
- Derby,
- Man City

Format:

- Three teams in each group (3 groups all together) The winner of each group progresses to the final group of three.
- 15 minutes each half per match
- 11 a side
- Each team in a group will play each other once, the one with most points is the winner
- Draw will be done to decide who goes into which group

How teams score points:

Win: 3 points
Draw: 1 point
Lose: 0 points
Goals(s): 1 point per goal

Getting Involved:To Play - You need to contact myself or your team leader, whichever you want to. I will leave contact details at the bottom of this article. It will cost £5 to participate. This money will be used to pay off the pitch and everything left will be donated to Sport Relief.

Most the teams are already built, but that doesn't mean that we will not be accepting anymore players so please ask.

To Watch - Please get into touch with me so I know that you are coming. Contact details are at the bottom and it will cost £5 for you to watch, all the money going to Sport Relief. You can pay on the day or do it online via the online fundraising page at the bottom.

If you do it that via the fundraising page, please message me so I can e-mail you back confirmation. Just print that off and bring it with you on the day please. Kids under the age of 16 get to watch for free!

Helpers - Basically need people to:

- Collect sponsorship money on the day (From Tickets and anyone willing to make extra donations, I'll handle the players)

- Keep score of points for the three separate groups (Atleast 3 people, all can work together for the final group matches)

- Draw for the cup at the start of the Event

- Bouncers (only joking!)

Contact Details:

Facebook group: www.facebook.com/group.php?g...

If you wish to contact your team leaders direct, then those on the facebook group have been clearly named so that you can contact them or you could just post an article on 606.

Please Sponsor Us:

It is all for Sport Relief and a worthy cause so please donate on the following link. Every contribution is greatly appreciated by myself and all others involved:

Any questions then ask away, I'll get back to you soon as possible.

Jag

Jag

Count me in to help out. I have had experience of refereeing games so dont mind giving up my time to help.

I am Red Swann's dad ... by the way he is 18 today!
