Hardy Eustace - What a Horse!National Hunt by legenddessie (U2254483) 16 November 2008 Having just watched Hardy Eustace warm my heart THAT is why NH Racing is so superior to Flat, an eleven year old Horse who refuses to be beaten, no prima donna tantrums from the likes of him, a star and a legend. thedrever (U10521588) posted Nov 16, 2008 Great performance from Hardy Eustace, let's hope this stops the nonsense talk about him being retired. He still has a lot to offer. However Sizing Europe was the horse to take out of the race for the future, he will obviously come on alot for the run.

legenddessie (U2254483) posted Nov 17, 2008 If the going at the festival came up soft or even softer, Hardy would have a genuine chance in the CH IMO if he took his chance - 2 miles, testing ground and a stiff uphill finish are ideal - they did try the staying route last year and it looked like the limit of his stamina was 2.5 miles.

legenddessie (U2254483) posted Nov 17, 2008 Fair points Dazzling, but d'ont forget it was Hardys first run of the season and he may also improve for the run as well,i agree completely that Sizing will come on for the run, but Jered already had the benefit of a run and still couldn't beat Hardy, c'ant say i fancy Jered much for the CH, his price seems ridiculously short when you consider he is taking on the likes of Binocular and Katchit to name but two, plus, up the Chelters hill he will have to stay on much more powerfully than he appeared to yesterday.

tidalbay (U12914268) posted Nov 18, 2008 Hardy should be kept at 2 miles - he simply doesnt stay 3. He has a better chance in the champion than the world provided he is not over raced and kept fresh. Sizing Europe could improve in his next run but I do not rate him as champion hurdle material. Get on Katchit for a repeat - the each way ante post punt of the festival at current prices.

tidalbay (U12914268) posted Nov 18, 2008 Osana has obvious claims on it's runs at the course and distance last year, and potential for further improvement as it will be 7 in the 2009 hurdle, however i find it hard to trust the form of the pipe stable at the moment. Comment on this article |
