MightyWolves13 (U13699684) posted Nov 18, 2008 Mancienne is a class player, ridiculously athletic, reads the game well, always eager to learn. What more could you want? He has been the best player in the U21s for a while and deserves his place in the full squad. Those trying to hinder him before he starts have clearly not seen him play for QPR and Wolves. Beats Cahill, Wheater etc no question. The only reason he isnt playing premiership football is because Chelsea won't sell him, and surely the fact that one of the richest and biggest clubs in the world wont sell him says it all

LondonsFinestClub (U11217560) posted Nov 18, 2008 I'M DELIGHTED FOR THE LAD, THINGS HAVE FALLEN WELL FOR HIM OF LATE AND WHATS WRONG WITH THAT. HE MAY NOT BE AS OBVIOUSLY TALENTED AS WALCOTT BUT THAT'S BECAUSE HE IS A DEFENDER. SO WHAT IF DOESN'T GET A GAME, IT'S AN HONOUR TO BE CHOSEN AND I'M SURE HE IS PROUD. HE CAN ONLY DO HIS BEST AND THUS FAR IT HAS BEEN ENOUGH TO GET HIM TO THIS POINT.

cageyvilla (U9527758) posted Nov 19, 2008 Surely this call up is a bit like when Walcott when to the World Cup and then sat on the bench a total waste of time when players actually playing in the premier league are not getting the chance.

Tilly & Sammy's lovechild (U12315346) posted Nov 19, 2008 I went to see the England U21s beat Portugal U21s at Wembley a few months ago and this guy was brilliant. One of the best players on the pitch alongside Milner and Agbonlahor. He's definately one for the future and needs a chance if not tonight, then at some point soon.

DMT1985 (U13356427) posted Nov 19, 2008 hmm. mancienne's promising but hasn't got 7 or 8* potential. don't forget about micah richards and steven taylor, who I think will develop into much better future England players in the same position. Comment on this article
