It's been confirmed that Mancienne has been called up to the England squad for the friendly against Germany on Wednesday. Delighted for him.

Up the Wolves!

If cahill played for Chelsea he would be in faster then you could say Cappello. Im sorry to singe out Cahil but i know most about him.

>Bolton Have had the 3rd most amount of clean sheets outside "top 4 clubs" Mainy due to Cahill O'Brien Partnership.

>Cahill is consistently good.

>He has Premireship Experiance

>Has worn captins armband for Bolton

>Has proved a threat a corners (weekend)

I dont think it is a race thing personaly, Engaland already have a very ethinc squad. It's due to the fact he is in a big four club.

Mancienne is a class player, ridiculously athletic, reads the game well, always eager to learn. What more could you want? He has been the best player in the U21s for a while and deserves his place in the full squad. Those trying to hinder him before he starts have clearly not seen him play for QPR and Wolves. Beats Cahill, Wheater etc no question. The only reason he isnt playing premiership football is because Chelsea won't sell him, and surely the fact that one of the richest and biggest clubs in the world wont sell him says it all

Does he warrant an international call up? A resounding no from a Chelsea fan.

An excellent prospect but you know the England international side are struggling for numbers when they're forced to turn to a player who hasn't even played in the Premier League.

This is worse than when Sven called up Walcott for the World Cup.

It matters little anyway. He won't play, he'll be very lucky to make the bench.

I'M DELIGHTED FOR THE LAD, THINGS HAVE FALLEN WELL FOR HIM OF LATE AND WHATS WRONG WITH THAT. HE MAY NOT BE AS OBVIOUSLY TALENTED AS WALCOTT BUT THAT'S BECAUSE HE IS A DEFENDER. SO WHAT IF DOESN'T GET A GAME, IT'S AN HONOUR TO BE CHOSEN AND I'M SURE HE IS PROUD. HE CAN ONLY DO HIS BEST AND THUS FAR IT HAS BEEN ENOUGH TO GET HIM TO THIS POINT.

Surely this call up is a bit like when Walcott when to the World Cup and then sat on the bench a total waste of time when players actually playing in the premier league are not getting the chance.

I went to see the England U21s beat Portugal U21s at Wembley a few months ago and this guy was brilliant. One of the best players on the pitch alongside Milner and Agbonlahor. He's definately one for the future and needs a chance if not tonight, then at some point soon.

Noble was the best player on the pitch against Portugal. Absolutely ran the show against Fernandes and Veloso who are valued at £15m a piece.

Mancienne was up against Vaz Te! laugh My Mum could mark him!

Your not a Chelsea fan. Otherwise you'd know Mancienne was outstanding against Portugal and throughly deserves, maybe not to play, but to soak up the atmosphere of the squad and be part of it. Next time it may be some other youngster called up to benefit from a friendly, but he is an outstanding prospect. Ashamed you don't know that.

hmm. mancienne's promising but hasn't got 7 or 8* potential. don't forget about micah richards and steven taylor, who I think will develop into much better future England players in the same position.
