I see that an independent Appeal Committee, today (Friday, 14 November 2008), dismissed the appeal brought by Marius Tincu, the Perpignan hooker (No 2), against the decision of an independent Disciplinary Committee.

"The independent Appeal Committee, chaired by Rod McKenzie (Scotland) and also comprising Achille Reali (Italy) and Chris Quinlan (England), found that Marius Tincu had not demonstrated that the original decision had been in error, or that it should be overturned or varied, and accordingly the Appeal Committee dismissed the appeal and upheld the suspension imposed on the player of eighteen (18) weeks."

So what will Perpignan do now, carry out their threat to quit the Heineken Cup?

That decision is disgracefull, ther's absolutely no evidence of any Tincu misconduct, it was only reported by two welsh players. ERC independant committee ... let me laugh. Lets give the title to a welsh or English side straightaway.

It's as bad as northampton's neil best bad.
Having never received a citing before and video replays showing no intent he was grossly mistreated in relation to his banning.
A bias towards non-mainland British players...

so he has been cited by a citing officer, then found guilty by a tribunal then found guilty by an independent tribunal, I'd say there is some evidence that has been presented somewhere along the line, then again people on here clearly know much more about the case than the guys who sat on the case and have afar better idea of what he did or didnt do

The evidence must have been overwhelming - he's the first player to be cited for foul play against an Osprey's Player
