The Boss and Popo, back together again

Silence-Lotto has confirmed the move of 28 year old Jaroslav Popovitsj to Astana. Armstrong had asked his former teammate and master domestique to rejoin him at Astana. Silence-Lotto, disappointed in Popo's performance in this year's Tour de France, weren't too fussy in letting him go.
Popovitsj has signed a contract for two seasons and will be the last rider signing for Astana's 2009 team.

To be fair he was poor in the tour de france. I think im right in saying it was Cadel Evans who specifically asked his team to get him on board, particularly to assit him on the TdF climbs, which on the whole didnt really happen. I suppose the decision by SL isnt that much of a suprise as i think he is quite espensive (ie. wages)!

Adds some more strength and depth to Astana though.

I highly doubt they're going to risk losing their place in the TdF over him though.
Also, I fully agree he needs to complete his 2yr ban if he wants to return to the road.

By which time Vino will be 37 or 38 (Yes, just like LA, but without the 7 TDF's).

Read more talk about Vino's return elsewhere, but I wouldn't expect it to happen or, if it does, be anything more than anecdotic - or a move to track events such as the madison maybe. Might achieve some degree of success there.

Re the subject of the article:
I don't know how seriously Armstrong is in this, but if I were Contador I'd be an extremely uneasy man.

I'd rather have LA in any other team rather than as an alleged 'ally' in my own - more so when the package also includes Bruyneel and a bunch of Armstrong's mates.

You?
