galinor (U13179790) posted Nov 8, 2008 England will have twelve sides in super league next year and the second division to help bring players through. Is it true that NZ have just one side in the Aussie league? Yet they are consistently the better side. What's wrong? Why are we so clueless in defence? In terms of player numbers surly NZ are minos, yet England didn't score for so long it was embarrassing. They won't win next week. NZ are better, stronger... I'm fed up with this rubbish England team.

chakasrock (U10095328) posted Nov 8, 2008 It was extremely embarressing the way we lost - didn't have a clue second half. It was also the first English team I have seen who were unable to face the Haka. What was that all about? Total lack of respect. Whose idea was that? I watched England face the Pacific Islanders at Twickenham in the rugby union international today. They proudly stood in a line and accepted the challenge thrown down by the Islanders. Great game followed. The rugby league boys need to follow suit!

I'm a leaguey to my very bones, in spite of the repeated administrational own-goals. It hurts so much that we are unable to compete internationally, our game at home is now in the worst state it's ever been. I've even started watching rugby union, for all its faults and endless, inexplicable penalties, at least they still have competitive scrums and unpredictable results. The best we can hope for now is a damage limitation exercise in the form of another defeat by the Kiwis to spare us the further humiliation of facing the Aussies in the final. We have lost all credibility on the international stage and quite where we go from here, I have no idea.

We've completely lost the plot as far as international league is concerned. Regrettable, but true and it's been like that since at least 1982. That's why some of our lads choose to switch codes, not because it's a better game, which you and I both know it isn't. Everyone knows that the only international class centres playing in Superleague, are foreigners. I hate the rugby union establishment for the way our game has been treated over the years and I hate the way the media have hyjacked the word rugby, so that in the eyes of the uninitiated, it means only one code, rugby union. But I'm not blind to the shortcomings of our own game and the death-wish that some of our administrators seem to have. We can't blame others for the mistakes we make time and time again.
