Owen backs Magpies for Europe

Premier League Newcastle United
comment on the article

Back-to-back wins can do strange things to footballers.

Just check out the latest comments from Newcastle striker Michael Owen (full story appearing on website soon)

He reckons a top seven finish is not impossible for Newcastle, despite an indifferent start to the season.

What do you reckon? Is Owen getting carried away, or is there real cause for optimism?

Owen has not said....WE WILL PLAY Europe. Why some stupids are trying to conclude various things from what he said. What he simply said was that if newCastle continue plays like it is now, then no doubt NewCastle CAN be playing in Europe. YES IT IS POSSIBLE. But as someone earlier said, contest is very close. You loose few and again it will be relegation battle. You will few you are in top 10.

So YES IT IS POSSIBLE but it tough.

Even my chums, who don't have English as their first language, understand the vast different between 'can' and 'will'.

This is nothing to do with probabilities and statistics, from which I make a living and therefore could discuss this aspect until the cows come home, but simple comprehension of the English language.

One has to wonder sometimes about the level of intelligence of some of the WUMs on these boards.

Peter Scrivener, have you ever wondered why the BBC won't let you present any sports programs?

The answer is simple...

1. You're talking about Michael Owen- He's a has been, was good but not anymore.

2. Owen won't be at Newcastle next season... in fact my money is on him being the first to leave in January

3. You're gulliable... listening to Michael Owen is a cardinal sin

Newcastle are a joke, simple 'AS'
If anyone thinks M.Owen will be there after Jan. they have another thing comming. I don't think M.Owen will be the only one, but when a player is desperate to get away he must show some Loyalty, even if it is all false.
