With the Odi series looming large i was just wondering how everyone thinks we will fair against the indians over the seven matches and although we had a fantastic series does anyone think we will come out the victors.
Personally i feel we should drop luke wright and replace him for a spinner which logically we suggest Swanny as his replacement but i think i would also leave out Anderson for Sidebottom as i beleieve he is alot more controlled ad would subsquently handle an indian onslaught better
My team would read as follows-
Bell
Prior
Shah
KP
Colly
Freddie
Patel
Swanny
Broad
Harmison
Sidebottom

I would want there to atleast be the opputunity for all 50 overs to be bowled by front liners which i think we have i wouldnt want to have to really on Colly, Kp, Patel or say Wright to have the presure of having to fill the ten overs between them against the Indians, What about every1 else what team would y'all pick?

England will have major trouble with Indian culinary spices which will certainly result in seriously debilitating gastro-intestinal problems. This deplorable condition will woefully weaken many of them, as has been the case with Brett Lee, who can't stay out of the toilet, and thus render them terribly unable to compete with the Indians under the hot tropical sun.

Harbhajan Singh will have a field day!

How will England do against India?

Well, there's a simple answer to that question. If we play like we did against the South Africans in the 4-0 win ODI series, I think it will be a sight to see and we will give India a run for their money. We might not win! But we will certainly compete!

If we play like we did in Antigua in the big money game...forget it. May as well not bother showing up for the first game if we are going to play like that!

England have got the ability to compete, but they will need to raise their game further if they want to win.

Best of luck to both India and England, looking forward to the series!

If England play as well as they did in the warm up match it ought to at least be a competitive series

england can win if they believe they can start playing cricket instead of giving excuses

- India is more hygienic than england
- britain has no cuisine - britishers eat indian food in UK
- england is a weak team - in 100 years they have lost a 90 times in ashes - no shame whatsoever
- england also has the worst economy and inflation - socialism is saving them

Shame on you guys for deriding England's capabilities!! They won 4-0 against SAF..and they will win 4-3 against India in ODIs...

England:

Prior
Bell
Bopara (pinch hitting role to get quick runs)
KP (aggressive- maintains/ regains the momentum/tempo if bopara fails)
Collingwood (if KP fails too he can grind and consolidate)
Freddie (late order powerpack)
Shah (can be an insurance if everything goes terribly wrong and can also handle spin very well)
Broad
Swann
Harmison
Anderson (sidebottom injured for first ODI)

Very good bowling with Anderson, Fred, Harmison and Broad as quality pacemen and swan as the spinner. The reason why I didn't pick patel is because there is no why he can handle india- if anyone saw him in antigua, he gets tireeedddd so quicklyyyyy- in india u must be extremely fit and so sorry but he just can't play- even inzy is fitter than him!

In terms of batting, you have the hard-hitting players in Prior, KP, Ravi and Freedie with your important nudgers in PC, Bell and Shah.
Quality side I say!

As for India:

Sehwag
Gambhir
Raina
R. Sharma
Yuvraj
MS Dhoni
Yusuf Pathan
Harbhajan
Zaheer
Ishant
Patel

Sehwag and Gamhir are one, if not the best, opening partnerships in WC at the moment with both able to score evry quick runs and then you have raina who seems to be back to top form judging from his performance against SL. Yuvraj, Sharma, Dhoni and pathan like raina can really smash the ball to all parts.

Buth all of those players mentioned bar Yuvraj, Sehwag and Pathan can also play with a lot of patience, which is the key. Dhoni will be massive for India no doubt.

And bowling is very strong too- harby, pathan, sehwag, yuvraj, sharma and raina can all bowl spin with patel, sharma and khan who are so accurate and give nothing away.

Kholi though might play due to his performance in Lanka but not sure how can he be accomodated. Ojha too might play instead of Pathan but not sure if that would be wise move...

All in all- a terrific series coming up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
