Based on what kind of cricket knowledge do you base that comment? One swallow etc etc.....

The 2-0 result is a fair reflection of the series. It reflects the self belief in the Indian camp and the uncertainty and weak leadership in the Australian camp.

sirkentishlad,

I have to agree with you, albeit only partially, on that the English bowlers can be great one day and pretty woeful another day...but the same may be said of the Indian pacers...the spinners may be better though...

Having said that I must add that the English attack can be potent on atleast a few occasions but this current Aussie attack haven't been good on any...

After reading the texts all day and watching the game at home, I still can't believe the vehemance in which everyone is bringing Australia down with! Its like a world war has ended! Was it like this when West Indian dominance started to fade??

I for one don`t believe that the aussies dominance has faded. I think the choice of players they took on the Indian tour needs to be questioned. Hilfenhouse the Tasmanian bowler would have been one I would have chosen for a berth.

I would also like to say that I feel it was far better for Australia's sporting psyche to have had a crack at a win, and risk losing - as is what happened - that put a Geoffrey Boycott-esque wall up and try and just play the day out.

We should not underestimate the spinners that India has in their arsenal coupled with the job their "quickies" did and England could find the going no easier than the Aussies did.

I see Australia are bringing Symonds back for the one dayers. They sure missed him in this series!

Good to see Ponting being a bit more honest in his assessment of his own team and a more generous to the Indians. Maybe he's realising that self-delusion and over-competitive tactics may not be the best way to rebuild Aussie dominance?
