Good interview with Peter storrie.
Basically say's the national press doesn't know what they are going on about and good news on the training ground and stadium.
Just proves his mate honest Harry was talking rubbish when he left.

tmjonic - sorry mate but by January 3rd, Mr Defoe will be house hunting on the Wirral as he'll be playing for Liverpool.

Sorry to the both of you, because from January 1st to February first I'm kidnapping Defoe and only letting him out for 90 minutes on matchdays.

If he's not around to sign the paperwork, he can't leave!

Same with Crouch, Distin et al (they can train together in my secure garden). Diarra can leave though, that's inevitable (although he is worth a damn sight more than £10m, thank you very much Man City).

A significant comment or kite flying by Mr James. I think he may just be doing this with the benefit of some inside knowledge.
Yes Defoe -well obviously he'd jump at the chance of returning to Spurs wouldnt he? I mean theyre only bottom and, what, 10pts or so behind Pompey. If Defoe leaves Pompey he'd be mad to go anywhere not offering CL football. So it will be Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea (manutd have too many strikers). Yes Spurs re-unites him with "Hurry up Harry" but to what end -mid table mediocrity. If I was advising Defoe Id say set yr sights higher.

What is it with the BBC
James says the only way players will leave if they are forced to go through lack of funds.
And the BBC spin some headline to make it look worse James fears player exit at Pompey.
Talk about biased reporting and listening to the Judas one.
The only ones who know what is going on is Storrie and Sacha and so far the have said it's all paper talk started by a certain Judas.

Pompeyblue I agree mate. I read the interview before the BBC posted their take on it and it seem very positive to me. The club is still in the best shape it has ever been.
With Crouchy, Niko and Jamo all pledging to stay and their support of TA I really don’t think we have anything to worry about.
We all always knew Diarra was only temporally with us but by selling him we put ourselves firmly in the black.
Am interested to hear what Sasha has to say this eve although. As I very much doubt he is going to say the club are no longer going to build a new ground/ training facilities, so I’d of thought we cant actually be as hard up as other clubs fans/ national papers keep on trying to tell us we are.

What is it with the BBC?

Whilst I thought the media blew the Ross Brand thing out of all proportion, the Beeb can't be defended for this article on David James.

To say he 'fears player exit' in the headline, when the story (lifted from the Portsmouth News) actually tells the opposite - is tabloid journalism - something the BBC has to be above.

No doubt the twitcher's mates are at play trying to undermine Pompey again, and likewise a thread on here about Pompey's money worries. Why just Pompey, what about other clubs? What makes Pompey any special case? The club have issued statements and been open with the financial situation (ie the club is doing fine - if an offer came in which matched the owners valuation he'd consider it but the club is not 'up for sale') Look at the Pompey website for Peter Storrie's interview on the club, training ground and stadium.

SO BBC - GET OFF THIS WITCH HUNT. ALL IS FINE AT FRATTON PARK. JUST BECAUSE A MEDIA WHORE HAS LEFT DOESN'T MEAN PFC CAN'T GO ON AS BUSINESS AS USUAL.

Was just about to post the same kind of thing as theriddle's post above.

Nowhere in the BBC story does David James say he fears players leaving in January. If anything, he is saying that he doesnt know of any players that are looking to leave, and so the only reasons would be financial. Thats the same as any club any where, so I think this news story is doing nothing but twisting his words to make a more interesting headline.

That kind of reporting annoys me, and although I do love the BBC website, it's not the first time their news stories have been misleading or biased. Sort it out please!

It'll get a lot worse than this, every week we'll hear about financial problems, players being sold because 'media darling' Harry's left us!, lets see what Sasha's got to say tonight first, and lets see what happens in January, if TA wants players out they'll be sold but im sure he'll be allowed to bring players in too!, Diarra's out of his hands IMO, it's inevitable he's way too good for this club, same goes for City and Spurs who he's being linked with though and as DCDJ says £10m!!! for Diarra, no chance, we'd be looking at nearly double that surely?
