OK he's gone and recent results have been poor but I'd like to thank him for the ride. Really enjoyed most of his tenure and I reckon he'll rock up somewhere else and prove to be a success again.

I think this is a mistake given the situation at the club at the moment. Instability never helps and unless we make a stand-out appointment (unlikely?) this may prove to be our undoing.

I know he wasn't everyone's choice at the end but personally I think he did a great job for most of his time here.

Good luck AB.

Fingers crossed we don't end up with Dowie!!!

Thanks and good luck Aidy. Yeah, he made a few mistakes, but it's ironic that this season as he's showing that he has recognised and started to rectify those mistakes is when he gets "mutual consent"ed.

Aidy's struck me recently as someone who's very frustrated with the way things have been going on behind the scenes but was professional enough to keep quiet in public. Chances are it'll come out soon enough that he lost faith in the board's ability to provide him with a decent foundation to build a team on, and the visions that each had for the club now differed so much that it was time to go. Roll on the EGM...

So, good luck again and thanks for some cracking memories. I'll bet anyone that the next club he goes to will be much better off for his presence.

As a neutral I've always though that AB was a very good young manager. His record stands as a testament to that. Whichever club gets him next will be very fortunate.

Not so sure Watford will be bought out just yet - credit crunch and all that jazz.

You just have to back Malky Mackay and Sean Dyche for now. You never know they could get Watford flying up the league!

Suppose they won't stand for much messing around and Dyche is doing well with the kids.

AB, to an outsiders point of view always seemed like a good bloke. A couple of times after a game he said stuff that imo opinion wasn't entirely true and riled up fans of the other side but he was never unreasonable. You could see why he made the comments that he did, just like other top managers he was more concerned with saying what was right for his team than anything else, and that's an important skill that all good man managers need to have.

I'm perfectly happy with our current manager, but if say 7 or 8 years down the line AB rocks up at Deepdale, on current evidence I wouldn't be worried.

He got you playing some good football, and will be a hard act to follow. didn't waste huge amounts of cash either. Good luck with your next oppointment, but hands off Irvine.

£3.25m on Nathan Ellington

Last season the style of play was non entertining and dull

Wednesday Fan in peace.

I think its a real shame AB has gone, he is young talented and refreshingly honest. Sometimes booting out the manager isn't the best method of fixing things. Who else that is better will be brought in??

Good luck to him

Mitch_wfc, Ellington has scored hatfulls wherever he's been, I'm sure everyone thought it was a great buy at first, as I did. Its not Aidy's fault he turned into the biggest waste of money the club has ever spent. Although you could argue that it was as Aidy was responsible for training and how the players played. Anyway, you cant just make a broad sweeping statement like that.

Aidy is right up there with GT for what he achieved for the club, we can only presume he got frustrated at having to sell loads of players and thought enough's enough after the performances the teams been putting in.

I for one wish him all the best and success where-ever he goes. Future England manager there if clubs allow him a bit of freedom to do his job.
