What a finish! Speechless ( nearly). Thought Lewis had blown it but it all worked out. Worthy winner of the WDC - best driver yes ( but only just) and no not quite the best car. I hate to say it but the red one has been a class act and Massa drove it faultlessly in Brazil. Not certain Lewis would have troubled him even with a new engine. Lewis drove the race that the team determined for him. The fact that he was able to be so disciplined only underlines how brilliantly he has done in just two seasons in F1. I hope this is the first of many for him, though given the brave face Massa put on the "win" and the "loss" of the WDC, I hope he gets some eventual reward for himself.

How next year will shape up? Given the rule changes designed to promote driving skill and more overtaking should make for an even better spectacle though for sheer tension I think 2008 has been vintage stuff. After yesterday I think a punt on Vettel might not be out of the question though perhaps he would be better sticking with Toro Rosso. Renault and Alonso appear to be getting back on track. Its all going to be even closer in 2009 - cant wait til March!

Congrats to Coulthard on his retirement, shame he didnt get a deserved swansong chequered flag ( or indeed the WDC he should have had at least once).

And finally - the end of ITV coverage - even more ad breaks than usual in Brazil ( no great surprise) but how tedious for the fans! Good riddance to all of them ( excepting Mr Brundle) who at least retains gravitas.

Just making the point that he has chosen to make Switzerland his home rather than the country he grew up in.

And you think that is acceptable? I think it speaks volumes about anyone who does that, but luckily for us all, they are a minority...

People who said Massa lost the title because of bad luck.

Well, Lewis had it in the bag yesterday with 4 laps to go and then HIS bad luck came with the rain, which threw everying out.

Now, if it didn't rain, Lewis would have easily finished 5th, where he was comfortably before the rain. Since it did rain, it was Glock who messed up by risking the dry tyres - if Glock came in however and changed, he would have then been back behind Lewis in any case - so either way, Lewis was always going to win.

Yes. Because unlike you, I'm not a completely miserable idiot.

He's still british, doesnt matter what country he now lives in and I will back him 100%. He stills calls himself British and he still represents the UK.

Is David Beckham not british because he plies his trade in the US now (and Italy)?

I wander why he lives in Switzerland when all the Media and press do is try to fins ways to make up stories about him.

Its no ones fault but theirs.

the real reason for hamilton living there aint the press or family or friends or hif gf but because the taxes in england are way too high go and find out for yourself wherever hes living right now its pretty low on tax
