Thoughts?

Anelka scores the worst hatt-trick ever, Roy Keane will eat his players, Chelsea are unstoppable (except for against Liverpool, apparently).
A good performance today though, and the home record is on its way to another 86 games, or so I hope...
Deco had a great effort hitting the bar, Anelka was predatory, and congratulations to Frank for scoring his 100th goal.
Mon the blues...

Anelka has gone from massively overrated, to massively underrated, and now I'm quite happy with him...

Heres to 100 more, Frank (downs a beer in one)

im the biggest 16 year old chelsea fan ever. i was deleighted seeing chelsea smash sunderland and i dont really rate anelka i think he is a bit lazy thats why he's offside half the time but days like today he deserves to be named by all chelsea fans as he won it himself today though if we had drogba he would have scored all those 3 and maybe a few more but a wins a win. nice one chelsea ok

I hate Chelsea soooooooooooooooooooooooo much. And angry that they're top again. I feel happy for them but angry that the 'pool didnt win to put us top by 3 points again. Can't wait for Tottenham v Chelsea lol.

I wanna see us smash a few teams like Chelsea but we're far from that and winning by 1 is no good. I think we could still win the title but we've made it hard for ourselves now!

the thing about anelka is that he is quick and has a powerful shot, but he is the type of player that likes to run at defenders as we have seen at Man C/Bolton.

but to anyone who saw the Chelsea V Sunderland game, Chelsea played round Sunderland via the wings thus when the ball came in, it was just a matter of tapping it in. Simple goals it seems but Anelka is now top scorer

Anelka is still useless, I was at the game and the amount of stick he was getting was increduble, and deservedly so, he is a lazy player who just poaches goals. He stole Alex's goal yesterday, and was lucky with his last goal. Your forgetting, we could quite easily of lost to Man U thanks to his open goal miss.

Until he shows up for the big games and scores proper goals, he should not start, simple as.

Drogba is a legend!!!!!

You will never smash Chelsea! You may beat us by one flukey goal,bu t Liverpool are not capable of thrashing Chelsea or completely playing us off the park.

Under the Benitez era, your biggest victory against us has been 2-0 (arguably our worst ever performance in years).

Whereas we have beaten you 4-1 at your own ground and at your beloved Kop laugh

We have also thrashed Man U 3-0 in the past, on our day we are more thna cpable of taking the likes of Liverpool, Villa & Everton apart.

Smash Chelsea?

Oh come on..

The only realistic chance of beating Chelsea for Liverpool is when we are missing many key players.

I've pointed out after this 1 nil victory for Liverpool that Chelsea struggled in the final third without Drogba and J.Cole who normally have great games against Liverpool. Chelsea dominated the game with 70% possession. How is that being smashed by Liverpool? Anelka, Malouda and Kalou were all average on the day, not good enough against the better teams in games that matter. Drogba and J.Cole usually score against Liverpool whenever they play against them. We missed them more than Liverpool missed Torres for instance. Liverpool came to stifle our game and put 10 men behind the ball. They did man marking jobs on Lampard, A.Cole and Boswinga, cutting out the players that cause the most damage. They allowed Mikel on the ball more and let Chelsea have the ball in their own half. Gerrard played as a lone striker at times, feeding off loose balls. The game was won by a fortunate deflection and then Liverpool defended most of the game. They deserved it because Chelsea had no strike power. Simple as...

When Liverpool beat Chelsea at Anfield 2 seasons ago Chelsea had 7 key players out of the team and other players had to play out of position to cover areas that were short. It was the best ever time for a fully fit Liverpool team to take on an injury hit Chelsea team.

Liverpool normally beat Chelsea by a mere goal or on penalty shootouts for example. They have never smashed or dominated a game against Chelsea in many of years.

As for Anelka, I agree with the above comment that he is only effective against weak teams that are totally in disarray. He poached a goal off of Alex yesterday and it could have been disallowed because in effect Anelka was offside when he forced the ball over the line. The ball was going in anyway and it was Alex who really should have claimed the goal. Anelka is only decent when he has room in behind the defence to run with the ball at goal or against weak teams that allow our wide players to get down the line and cross in loads of balls into the box for him to poach and scramble onto. Against a decent team and better defence that is well organised Anelka is often found out. When there is no room for him to run into he offers nothing else in terms of imagination to do something different. He is easily knocked off the ball and cannot hold it up for too long. I just think Drogba is a massive loss when he is always out of the team. My opinion.

Spurs fan here,

People dub Man U as having the most formidable strike force in the league and while i will conseed that theirs is a much more crisp attack, i still think chelsea have the best overall attack force. A chelsea attack doesnt have to be perfection for a goal scored as there is so often a strike of brilliance. i.e. 5 strikes vs Sunderland
only 1 against Spurs though smiley thankfully

What he meant by "smash a few teams like Chelsea" is to thrash teams like the way that Chelsea did, not "thrash Chelsea" because, let's be honest, it'd never happen. Use your heads before you unwind on somebody. Think about the context first.

I think Chelsea will win treble this session if they continue playing this way. Having Scolari already had a great impact on the game of Chelsea. Now, most of the managers like Roy Keane fancy Chelsea to win the PremierLeague this session anyway coolsmileywinkeye
