Live - Saturday's SPL

Scottish Premier
comment on the article

Welcome to another Saturday of thrills and spills in the Scottish Premier League...

Rangers are set to welcome captain Barry Ferguson back for the home tie with Inverness as they look to catch up with leaders Celtic.

Aberdeen are looking for their first home win of the season as Kilmarnock visit Pittodrie, while Dundee United are going for a seventh win on the bounce at Falkirk.

Motherwell host neighbours Hamilton Accies in what should be a keenly contested Lanarkshire derby and St Mirren welcome Hibs to Love Street, hoping the manager of the month jinx doesn't hit Gus MacPherson.

If Inverness have any hope of getting something out of the game, they will need to score in the next few minutes

Surely success is relative. If you come third you have had a successful season near the bottom a bad one it's not all about winning. Celtic and Rangers can't win the champions league but they can have good or bad seasons in it.

Football is supposed to be a competition. In a competition, there should be more than a potential 2 winners season after season after season.

It's the same in England. Arsenal are already out of it, Liverpool *will* fall away leaving Chelsea and Man Utd to fight it out at the end.

It's happened for as long as I can remember and it's just going to keep going that way until the game rules regarding money are changed.

i don't want to go down American sports avenue with player drafts etc. It's not perfect and i'd like to see another couple of big teams in Scotland but it's how it is and it's better than shopping on a Sat afternoon

I hope Smith realises Rangers lost the league last season because Boyd wasn't used enough. It doesn't matter what his deficiencies are, if he plays 40 games, he'll get AT LEAST 30 goals. He simply MUST play if he's fit. First name on the team sheet every single week. The team should be built to serve him.

Why do you think attendances are lower than ever? Most people have finally woken up to the fact that football is only a competition for a select few clubs.

The game is dying due to the same old teams winning year after year. I'm not sure why I even bother watching the results any more.

The Ranker's were up against the worst premier side at home in Inverness, i predicted 6/0, anyhow once the Champ's Celtic get to the midden in the brox then we shall win, always been slow of the block, but always finish top dog's, now going on for 4 in a row. Hail, Hail.

Not a single away goal today, no chance of that continuing tomorrow

The English teams in the Uefa cup go a lot further than Celtic and Rangers in that competition though, and Celtic if (as is likely) they finish bottom of their group won't even progress to the Uefa cup. Know what I'm saying?
