New Zealand v Papua New Guinea

World Cup
comment on the article

I'm fascinated by what will happen in this fixture.

New Zealand were very disappointing against Australia - what sort of response will we see from them?

PNG, on the other hand, started very well, giving England a real run for their money.

But they are not used to backing up on a regular basis - will they have the same energy and physicality today?

Let me know what you think.

Hmm this looks like a landslide. This makes England's performance look even shakier in the first match. I pray to god it was just a blip and we don't get slaughtered by the Aussies tomorrow.

RKW, your football predictor is off-line with the moderators..... could be the same reason as mine went down last week.

They now have a new section called "Sports Gaming" which was meant for people chatting about computer games.... but they are chucking all the "sports" predictor games over as well. doh

As for the RL, 22-0 at HT doesn't look good, and NZ are likely to be the stronger in 2nd half.

Personally, I'm now looking forward to Ireland's 2nd game; we actually have a chance to go through if we win by 10 points.

So someone explain this, the semi finals...is it just Group B and C winners against the top two in Group A? Or what?

Look, at the end of the day, the simple truth whether people like it or not is that rugby league is not high up the ladder on people's sporting agendas. Being a big rugby league fan myself, i feel this is due to the game feeling slightly ameaturish with their being a distinct lack of player pool talent to choose from.
For these reasons the RLWC is never going to be as good as the RUWC due to RU being more globally recognised as an international sport.
The crowds in this tournament have been dissapointing - there hasn;t been one sell out match so far and the stadiums arent exactly that big so that further backs up my suggestions..

The only way rugby league will grow with sport and popularity wise is if it branches its wings and goes to unknown RL places of the world. The more teams we have, the more players we have, the more fans we have.

SImple as that..

Oh here we go again RU verse RL Yawn!! This is the RL world cup so let’s only talk about RL okay.

Australia are brilliant and are going to thrash everybody. England following their NPG performance aren't up for it. New Zealand deep down don't have a big enough pool of players to really compete. Come the injuries and the standard will drop. Fiji are the exciting team for me. They love their rugby and don't seem to mind which code. I get the feeling RL could really do something there. The games I've seen are good quality. I think the competition has been vindicated.

It doesn't matter if the football or cricket world cups are bigger. This is RL and it's good. I think the sport is making more than a few friends out there. As for all this rubbish about RL not being international enough. It’s growing in France and Wales and by the look of it Fiji. RL just needs to go to some none-rugby nations to create some more interest and stop going to established RU countries and everything will be fine.

What we need is a cup upset to really make the competition sparkle. I can’t wait for the England Australia game.

PNG gave their best shot against newly arrived England and were burnt out this morning, we have a massive task tomorrow morning but expect a better performance from our guys who will have settled in, TS is a good coach has done his home work and the lads must be up for it so lets watch the game and save the depression for afterwards.

I predicted Spurs to beat Liverpool, Stoke to beat Arsenal and now I predict England to win this. It will be very close though, high scoring game, 24-2o England.

According to the article, England have LOST 2 points - oh dear! Seems there has been a typo!
