Aussies remain firmly under the cosh

International Tests
comment on the article

This is the “official” BBC thread to discuss events on day two of the third Test in Delhi.

So... this will be the best place to come from 0900 BST on Wednesday – just as the final session at the “Kotla” gets under way. The thread will be re-promoted from the match report at the end of the day.

Apologies that we cannot open 606 any earlier.

UPDATE - 0510 GMT. After the first hour of day two, the nearest the Aussies have come to a wicket is when a Laxman pull shot bounced 10 yards in front of Simon Katich at fine leg. India are progressing towards 400 with only three wickets down and - though the wicket looks totally flat - should it start to take spin on day three the home side's victory chances remain good.

I have been watching Test cricket since the early 1980s and I have to say this is the most unpenetrative bowling attack the Aussies have produced since Bob Holland and Dave Gilbert featured in the 1985 Ashes.

Mate, I have lived in England through the last 2 Rugby World Cups, the 2005 ashes and the last Olympics; bagging can't hurt me anymore! This series in India was always going to be very tough. Let the Poms say what they like before the event because I suspect we will have the last word.

No worries mate. I'm thinking of India as a shakedown cruise and a way to blood the new guys, then there's the Kiwis and SA for the fine tuning before the Ashes.

I wouldn't be that exited if I am an English fan, I believe you are also in line for some spanking in India and then Aussies are going to come at you like a full speed fully loaded locomotive. Hope you are up for it.
