Another Joey Barton Article – Please Read

Premier League Newcastle United
comment on the article

Joey is misunderstood, he cannot correct the things he has done in the past and all the things he has done are out of order, and he knows this.

The things he has done are not acceptable and in no way am I saying anything that he has done is right.
I know being a footballer he is a role model for the younger generation and he shouldn’t have done the things he has.
A lot of people fight, a lot of people are cruel and nasty, but a lot of people don’t care how they treat other people. Joey might not have cared while he was doing the things he has done but he cares now, what’s in the past is in the past.
It is time to forgive and forget, how can people call him a thug and then do thuggish things to him, its not right.
He deserves all the booing he gets from fans of other teams and some of our fans, but he will prove now that he isn’t the thug he is made out to be.

There are so many people like him in this world who have had problems growing up among other things, but because he is a professional footballer it is highlighted more.
Joey wants to change his ways, and people should let him do that, if they don’t then what is stopping him from going back to his old ways, he won’t have anything left and it would lead to disaster.
He wants to teach people to stay away from the trouble and teach people that they don’t want to do bad things as they will go to jail, which is not the place you want to be.

I just read an article in which he interviewed on “The Time” website and he said how his goal is dedicated to the people he has let down, that he didn’t care that he won MotM last night and scored because he would rather we win than anything in the world right now.

So I’m calling for all fans to give him another chance, the last times he never said he would change his ways, but he has now.

I’m calling for all Toon fans who gave up their season tickets to come back to the club they love, as Joey wants to prove to you that he is changing for the best and he wants to repay you for all he has done.

I’m now 100% behind Joey, and I hope he spends the rest of his career with us, last night he wasn’t just proving something for himself, he was proving to the fans that he now has the clubs best interest at heart and wants to help them through these tough times.

Vote 5* if you are willing to forgive him and let him change.

Vote 1* if you will never forgive him.

Vote 3* if you would never have forgiven him if he hadn’t said the things he now has.

"One thing that can't be levelled at me is that I've lacked courage"

Joey Barton is a very talented footballer. I saw the ten minutes or so when he made his debut for England and he added skill as well as grit to another McClaren-era under performance. I've always thought this of him and I beleive he will remain a top class player and boy does he have a lot to pay back to the game.

He's made himself an easy target and if I have one criticism of him, apart from the obvious, it's his willingness to talk. He talks a good game when it would be best for him to shut up and let his game do the talking. I wonder who advises him on the media side of things.

"One thing that can't be levelled at me is that I've lacked courage" is a great example of this in light of the offense.

He needs to grow up, be a man and act like a man. He needs a cure and whilst, my initial reaction is that he should be kicked out of the game, I believe the game can sort him. However, he should keep his mouth shut and do the community stuff to pay a few people back.

A case of a little less conversation, a little more action. I don't think he will ever be forgiven but he should have the chance to earn it.

PS - Why do NUFC fans seem to change their minds so much?

I am very curious about the collective response to the matter of JB and his convictions etc.

I am puzzled as to why people are calling for supporters throwing missiles etc ( rightly to be condemmed ) to be banned from the game for life? yet in the case of JB we have an individual convicted of assault, gbh both in a public capacity and and Football one. and no one it seems thinks its right he should be banned from the game.

he has been convicted of these things yet he has not been banned by various clubs from their respective grounds? yet they surely have the right to refuse entry to any known note:

CONVICTED FOOTBALL THUG !!!

Why has no club shown the bottle to act were both NUFC and the FA failed ? ok so they might think he deserves a " chance " but surely the powers excist for individual clubs to excersise their rights and can use for example " concerns over public safety " as reason enough to ban the chap from entering their grounds? if it works for supporters then the same should apply to Players should it not?

i tell ya what NUFC fans lucky for you and your club i do not hold sway at Arsenal for i assure you the FA and others I would indeed have banned him from the Emirates and yes stir up a hornets nest by doing so.

the people in charge have to get a grip, if you want to " clean the game up " then start doing it! and start by sending a very clear message to the likes of JB and any others thinking they can do the same.

YOU ARE NOT WELCOME IN FOOTBALL FIND ANOTHER JOB.

The things Joey Barton has done in the past have been massively blown out of proportion by those cockey muppets in the press. He's a passionate kid who obviously has trouble contolling his temper. Obviously im not saying what he's done is right but im sure nobody else who has anger management problems can honestly say the things they have done in a rage are right. The lads a great player, he's making progress, he seems dedicated and at the end of the day i think we should be thankful that we have joey because i'd much rather have a lad playing for us guilty of fighting on a few occasions than be like the Man Utds and Chelseas of this world with a team full of rapists who cheat on their wives with whores and abuse 14 year olds at partys.

God Bless Joey Barton
Howay The Lads!
