West Ham United 0 - 2 Arsenal

How very unlucky we were. I thought Greeno was awesome, albiet he was beaten when that free kick the post but the own goal was very unlucky. The score doesnt reflect the match. Bellamy should of scored to put us 1-0 up after Walcotts shot was parried. As for the ref sending Cole off, how bad a decision is that? Not had a yellow the whole match and given a straight red with 30 seconds a minute left. I hope we appeal for that as we don't need a red.
Credit to Arsenal for knocking on the door time and time again. Green was in top form and we came unlucky when Adebayor's ball hit Faubert when he tried to clear it. I thought we deserved a point out of that. Collins was awesome, just kept clearing every single ball and I thought was brilliant.
Arsenal had thier chances as did West Ham, they took one and got unlucky with Faubert own goal.

Thoughts and views welcome.

arsenal fan here.. to be honest west ham were effective on the break first half but you have to admit we dominated in terms of possession and chance creation.. it appeared to me that there was ahandball shout every time the hammers went forward but in all honesty i think they would have been harsh pens.. (apart from the last one, but we'll take the luck xD)...
the sending off was an awful decision.. it was a late tackle out of frustration late on in the game.. the ref should apply common sense and tell him.. games almsot finished calm down and at worst give him a yellow... btu today dowd was dishing cards out like they were going out of fashion...
we could have scored 5 or 6 in all reality but in saying that first half west ham made it difficult for us.. i think 2-0 on the balance of play about fair...
arsenal's performance well the back four looked pretty tight even eboue played ok (never though i'd say that)
midfield fabregas was good but not brilliant he didnt stand out and song was solid alongside him, nasri was disappointing and why he brought off walcott i dont know... saw glimpses of bendtner and RVP but niether were brilliant (rvp's free kick was quality!) from the bench i would have liked to see diaby come on and play in a similar role to tuesday just off the striker.. and it would have been nice to see ramsey...
my one concern is why isnt Carlos Vela getting no place in the squad.. i'd give him at least 20 minutes a game from the bench... he looks a very good player...
either way it was a scrappy game and we were abit below par but we often struggle down at Upton Park so a 2-0 victory is a result i would have gladly taken pre-match... so well done Gooners... Spurs next, i really want us to turn it on there...
a certain 5-1 drubbing needs avenging!!

Can't argue with the result, they had way more shots on goal, the better chances and always threatened. Nice to see Zola prepared to play an attacking formation with the 4-3-3 line up, but I am not sure we have the players to do that job against a side like Arsenal. Green was man of the match for sure, it could have been a complete hiding without him on form. We have to start taking our chances when we get them, if Bellamy scores when one on one it's probably a different ball game. We have forgotten how to score, worrying to be honest. Collins had a good game as did Parker, wonder why Beharmi and Neill were left out? to be honest not bothered they were. Thought Dowd was having a decent game until he spoiled it in the final minute, red card my @rse, he put his had in his pocket for a yellow initially then changed his mind, hopefully we appeal because it was no worse than the yellow he gave Faubert and that's the problem lack of consistency across these decisions. Knew it was going to be hard after the easy fixture list (on paper) and we could feel a ManYoo backlash in midweek. Harry is a boy eh? said he wouldn't leave Pompey again, he is probably the one guy who can keep the spuds up unfortunately. Chelsea losing their unbeaten home run, thank god how annoying was that?

COYI!

I think a fair result in the end. Perhaps The hammers maybe deserved a goal for opening us up a couple of times. Still though I though Clichy was solid and Adebayor changed the game.

Eduardo & Rosiscky to come back soon, so even more depth in the squad, could be right up there if we manage to keep players fit.

Overall, a fair result. maybe 2-0 was a bit flattering but on the basis of chances, we deserved it really. WH did not embarass themselves in the slightest and I think they will cause a few teams some problems at home if they play as well on the counter attack as they did today.

the referee and linesmen were simply awful today. unnecessary sending off and some of the yellow cards were incredibly petty.

Also, quite how neither of them saw Green handling the ball a yard outside his area is quite incredible.
still an enjoyable game, if a little frustrating at times.

I was badmouthing Bendtner the whole game but what a pass. that was straight out of Cesc Fabregas text book!!

shame Spurs won as well but hopefully we'll know them back down again with victory on wednesday.

What a match West Ham deserved better than a loss , it really could of gone either way.Football at it's best what a treat I'm happy both teams are from London. All we need now is our boy Harry to get the Spurs rolling.

WH were ok but never did enough to beat us. We hit the post twice and Green made some excellent saves, so 2-0 could have been maybe 4-1. To WH's credit they didnt try to kick us off the park like many teams do, though RVP was subjected to a few harsh tackles early on. We have been missing some key players lately and I think we have done pretty well, and with Rosicky & Eduardo almost back things can only get better.

it was an entertaining match.

WHU were unfortunate when Faubert put through his own net sd i think this broke down there self belief and ultimatley lost them the game.

But im a happy Gooner smiley

Green played well by keeping a clean sheet for so long, but the things that ruin his game is the rushes of blood he has to his head! What was he thinking when he caught the ball outside of his area? and then again he come rushing out when he was never favourite to beat Adebayor for the second goal?? Mistakes like that are the reason he isn't England's number 1...
