LEE SMITH

Leeds

he's fast becoming the hottest property in world rugby. i'm so glad he turned down a move to wigan last season, after Tony Smith gave them permission to talk to him.

after a man of the match performance in the Grand Final, he bags a hat-trick (and gets one disallowed) on his debut...in the world cup.

well done Smithy!

We love you Senior coz you got no hair but in this game you were not everywhere. He was found wanting, to many gaps blush

bullsandnewsomeboy. you have the gall to call me dillusional! atkins isnt even in oz so he won't play, son. also, you'll find sykes is a damn sight smaller than senior....so according to your theory, he CAN'T play! Pryce needs to play at 4, and danny mags at 6.

as for smith, he's becoming world class, and he's leeds through and through.

Lets see what happens in the next few matches, none of the England team were outstanding today and all credit should be given to PNG, before you hail Smith as the saviour of England RFL lets see how he gets on( if he is picked) against the Aussies and Kiwi`s

Gardner was fine but I hope that other Stains rubbish is left on the bench...

Great stuff! I came all the way to Oz to watch Calderwood get run over 5 times in as many minutes by the likes of Inglis and Folau...

Put smith to full back, sykes to centre, calderwood to wing, maguire to s/o, higham to hooker then we may have a chance against the aussies.ok

Agreed on Senior. The coaches seem to have had the blinkers on with Senior and Gleeson over the years where they're virtually undropable irrespective of their form or that of their rivals. That said in the squad there aren't really any better options. I'd probably have taken Shenton ahead of Sykes but with Yeaman's injury and the other young pretenders being under cooked (i.e. Hall, Clubb and Goulding) I still think he's the best option.

I'm more concerned with how lightweight we look in the back row especially defensivley.

Smith will be alright if he learns to catch the ball and not run into touch. To be fair he did have fall over the line trys.
Alright start but carm down about him.

He's ok but nothing special. Every team in Australia has at least one winger better than him so I'm not sure how he is becoming the hottest property in world RL?

Even Smith himself would be embarassed about that comment.

rewind 4 weeks or so Retro. nobody outside Headingley rated smith. comments on here after his incident with phil bailey were along the lines of "he's rubbish anyway, and leeds won't need him in the grand final".

who, in their last 2 games has caused such a stir as smith? man of the match in the grand final followed by a hat-trick on debut in the world cup.

you're only as good as your last game, and smithy is phenominal. nobody can deny that.....and as we all know now, the only reason he didn't go the length of the field in the last minute against PNG for his FOURTH try of the night was because he was injured!
