Stargazer (U2150250) posted Oct 23, 2008 Cook's new contract does not really mean anything to Essex apart from some compensation from the ECB for his non-availability. If he is playing for Essex it's because his form has deserted him and he has lost his England place.

Stargazer (U2150250) posted Oct 23, 2008 I think that she is saying that he is no Tendulkar... and he isn't, but he's done the job for England. posted Oct 24, 2008 Its good see that another home grown Essex born and bred lad is staying on with us. posted Oct 24, 2008 Its brilliant to see the cornerstones of the Essex team committing their futures to the club. I'm hoping this will be a massive season in all versions of the game. We certainly have the squad to make it big, I just hope England dont take too much of Bopara and Foster...
