Browse: Cricket Swampy's son Marsh gets a goby Oliver Brett - BBC Sport (U1779520) 22 October 2008 So the great white hope of Australian cricket, Shaun Marsh, is the man the selectors have turned to as they replace the injured Phil Jaques. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

Warm Pouch (U9584182) posted Oct 22, 2008 Isn't it just great to see Austrailia scratching round for a side. They are toothless without Warne and McGrath. The batting is also suspect but I think it is made to look worse by their inability to trouble the opposition batsmen. Anyway I love it. We all knew it was coming, Aussies just didn't want to face reality.

Stroller95 (U12935591) posted Oct 22, 2008 One thing is for sure, ths test series is a golden opportunity for some new faces in the Australian team to step up, make a name for themselves and stake their place in the side. At least one of them. Anyone of them? Please?

SGGHoncricket (U8519049) posted Oct 22, 2008 To be fair, Brad Hodge's average is elevated by the 203 and his short Test career thus far, and he has never played outside of Australia aside from the West Indies (Test, this is) so these may be factors. Nevertheless his first-class record is certainly impressive. Perhaps Australia are looking for a long term future player rather than a plaster fix of someone who is by now towards the end of his career (about 34 odd now I think he is)

Nickey Six W.I (U13648079) posted Oct 22, 2008 From What i saw when the Aussies toured the West Indies Sean Marsh looked like a pretty decent batsman in the few matches that he played in. Indian conditions should be new to him since he plays in the IPL

lordoms (U13140286) posted Oct 23, 2008 Brad Hodge is definatly underated. He is a class act, not good enough to break into the Aussie batting line up of a couple of years ago, but as it stands today, he could definatly hold his own against a majority of them. Poor players do not score hundereds let alone big hundereds as Hodge has done for Aus in the past. I have not seen much of Marsh, but what i have seen has been good.
