No need to go into too much detail, we all saw it. But I have to commend Eboue, fantastic work at right back but we already knew he was a great attacking fullback anyway (maybe this should teach Wenger to play him in his right position).

Midfield and attack were flawless, but I have major concerns over how easily Guiza was able to penetrate the central defence pairing and get on the end of throughballs. I counted at least 5 such incidents and it was only down to Almunia's heroics that Guiza only scored 1 of them. Our defence was playing too high up (as was Fenerbahce's) and that is suicide when you are facing a pacey forward like Guiza. The solution would have been to play deeper (at the expense of our attacking play) or to assign someone to specially mark him throughout the game (we don't have such a player).

Anway, fantastic result against a team renowned for their home record. Roll on the Premiership.

no point in saying don't be so negative, focussing on our weaknesses is what causes improvement and I hope for all of our incisive attacking (which was lovely) and ball retention, the boss focuses on the negative. The defence was apalling, when we went up 2-0 my turned and said to me 'this could end up 10 all'. Of course it wasn't our 1st choice defence, but the gaffer trusts these players and it is a squad game, what was particularly irritating was that it was the same ball over and over and over again. we may have to go into the weekend game with that defence, and that is worrying.

We have missed Diaby, and I pray for an injury free season, was interesting to see him in a more offensive capacity, but I was impressed. As for the boy Rambo, I can see him being our impact player, dynamic all action & knows where the goal is.

Diaby had some mad skills on the go, it was amazingly slick feet. I knew he was a pretty decent dribbler but that surprised me when he made the chance for Nasri's attempt.

Cant believe someone has said its an easy group! lol
Porto, Dynamo Kiev and Fenerbache are all good teams, and Champions league regulars.

Having a go at last nights defence is well out of order, how would United do with O'shea, Brown and da silva at right back with Evra, or Chelsea with Ivanovic, Alex and Ferreira at right back with A.Hole, I'm willing to bet that these defences would be just as dodgy as ours was last night.

You mention how easy he slipped through the defence, but Guiza is one of the best strikers in the world at making that decisive run. We saw it last year in La Liga where he finished top goal scorer over the likes of Nistlerooy, Raul, Messi, Henry etc. If you played that defence in a Premierleague match i think they would cope pretty well, it is just the natural ability Guiza has at makin a run that meant he broke through on numerous occasions. Great game by Almunia though.

Arsenal players are an exquisite lot, like fine china. Unfortunately they also like fine china that could get hurt easily. When SR went down last night it gave me a heart attack as we have already had too many in the treating table. Most so called critics stated the defence was bad but then what did they expect when the two centre defenders had never played together. I just wish Arsenal could have a injury free year but that would be wishful thinking.

Great result last night given the fact that we were operating with just one reliable centre back.

The worries about our consistency will however not go away just yet given the fact that we are already demonstrating just how desperate we can be when we get a few injuries at the back.

Its quickly coming to winter season, arguably the worst time for Arsenal in the year, we'll see just how right or wrong Wenger was about his transfer decisions at that time.

considering we had a makeshift centere back pairing that before yesterday evening hadn't played together at all let alone away from home in an intimidating atmosphere, I think they did a great job
