Radcliffe to win now Pavey is out?

Othertype
comment on the article

What's your thoughts on the news that Jo Pavey has pulled out of Sunday's Great South Run after picking up a groin injury.

The race was going to pit Pavey against Paula Radcliffe over 10 miles on the south coast.

It is Paula's first outing since finishing 23rd in the Beijing Olympic marathon as she continues preparations for her New York Marathon title defence.

Are you going to the race in Portsmouth though and will Pavey's absence pave the way for a Paula win?

I don't know how Jo Pavey even makes the BBC Sport news. Average athlete and has been all her career. The word showdown seems to imply there would be a contest between her and Paula.

"Average athlete and has been all her career."

1500 4.01
3000 8.31
5000 14.39
10000 31.12
HM 68.53

This isn't average chump, she's been consistently good for 9 seasons.

The real issue is whether Paula is fit, if so she will win in Portsmouth and hopefully repeat her victory in New York

I understand the BBC are unable to televise all sports events but Athletics fans will not be able to see paula run the great south run but have to make do with getting up in the middle of the night on tuesday to watch a half hour recap on channel 5. GOOD LUCK PAULA and JO Only sorry I wont be able to watch it live
