Pavlik ......Exposed!!

Yes I woke up in the early hrs of Sunday Morning eagerly awaiting B-Hop to shock the Boxing World. And I can say with a smile on face he didnt let me down...

As for Pavlik well I wasn't suprised, I think he had no respect for B-HOP thinking he would walk him down and land power shot after power shot with his supposedly monster Jab. And lets face it without his Jab pavlik is worthless, he has nothing else to give. Hopkins taught him a huge lesson and even gave him words of advice after the fight. It was definelty man against boy!!!

What suprises me the most on this forum is how hyped up Pavlik was going into the fight, I've said all along he's good but not a P4P fighter. He has heart though I will give him that

As for Hopkins well maybe he should retire? But it seems he still believes he has 1 more thing to prove if against Calzaghe or Jones. Personally id like him to fight Calzaghe in Millenium stadium next March or April. But only if he comes to fight like he did against pavlik.

I hope now Calzaghe starts to get a bit more respect from the people who slate him on here, Im not asking you to love him but just realise he is infact in a different league to Pavlik and belongs witht he legends that are Hopkins & Jones

The thing is we cant tell BH to retire because of age like EVander. BH is not deluded in thinking he can still do because he can.
What on earth is happening? Boxing is supposed to be a young mans game. In boxing you are supposed to age faster. I mean even in team games in football no 43 years play top flight.
But in boxing you cant rely on your teammates and you wil be found out.
BH has my respect. But he keeps stealing JCs opponents. Tarver and now Pavlik. WHo next for BH. I gues he wants kessler now.

BH may actually go for Froch while hes at it as well. Another potential JC opponent. BH dont want to miss anyone. He also stole Howard Eastman from JC. I heard Eastmans name mentioned alongside JC, and befor i could blink BH was fighting Eastman.
JC is gettin his own back on BH by taking on RJJ.

Pavlik threw far less punches than JC did, and Hopkins threw far more against Pavlik than he did against JC. That was the difference. Its often hard to judge how much venom is in a punch anyway when ringside.

What are you talking about? Pavlik is nowhere near as big a global box office draw as RJJ. So the fight made sense from every angle. Pavlik was exposed,to people like you, as the limited fighter that those who know anything about the sport could always see he was. Pavlik will be forgotton in a few years time, maybe sooner if the humiliation he suffered affects his confidence, whereas RJJ will go down in the sports history as a great. In terms of a legacy, what is the point of beating a man, that nobody except the keenest students of the sport will even remember in 10 years time.

its nothing to do with stamina..Pavlik is a one style fighter, hopkins is a awkward fighter, Joe Calazaghe who I agree with the haters is not the powerfullest of punchers, but he is a legend with the probably the best jaw in the game, and along with Floyd Mayweather a true mastermind who can adapt to different styles.. Thats the big difference between Good chamopions like Pavlik and legends like Calazaghe

"but my faith in boxing was hurt a bit when JC beat B-Hop. I think B-Hop schooled him proper, and taught him a big lesson."

please tell me your kidding pal? honestly really... how did b-hop school calzaghe? apart from the knockdown hopkins didnt do much at all (apart from wimpering and play acting on the floor). ohhh wait ive got an explantion for ur anger u lost ur £10 pocket money on pavlik.

but congratualtions to hopkins for proving all his doubters wrong. but maybe he should now retire after this last amzaing performance whilst on top?

I like both fighters but Joe Calzaghe did not get schooled against Bernard Hopkins at all, fairplay he caught Calzaghe early on but after that apart from a few more right hands he wrestled all night and anyone with any common sense knows Hopkins should have been docked several points for repeated excessive holding.
It was nice to see Hopkins beat Pavlik by actually landing shots, fair play to the guy he is in fantastic shape and has some serious skills but he was awful against Calzaghe and the referee was rubbish as well.
I want to see Toney Vs Hopkins now thats a fight I would pay to see, it would be very tactical and both are very slick.

Well,Well i guess pavlik has a bit more to learn. There is life in the old dog yet, and it shows that JC did a bit better than people thought. I do think tho that Bhop should retire. Retire on a win!!! JC won't fight him again but maybe roy JJ willif the money is right!!

I think because of BH his opponents sub consciously underestimate him, and dont train with as much drive as they normally would.
Maybe this is what is causing all of these upsets, along with the fact that he is a very decent tecnician.
