People just hate Hamilton, I wonder why, if it was Jenson Button who won it would be a different story..

If everyone liked the same it would be a sorry state of affairs, so why should everyone like Hamilton. I don't understand why you'd be bothered what people think of him, unless your his dad, but I wouldn't have thought he'd be posting on 606.

I hope he doesn't win this year, that's not a reflection on him, but more a reflection on the people he's up against this year. In my opinion, there are certain olympians/paralympians who are more deserving of the award this year.

And for the record, I prefer Hamilton to Button, and I wanted Steve Redgrave to win in 1996.

Much is dsaid about Hoy and I admire him haveing followed his career for many years, but we are forgetting one other outstanding cyclist who should also be considered for the top award, I mean Nicole Cooke.... She won the Olympic road title against all odds, and then went on to win the World Championship, the only women ever to do the double....

F1 Drivers, Sprint cyclist, tennis players all well and good but let's not forget one other cyclist Nicole Cooke ... she won the Olympic Road Race and then went on to win the world road race championship something that no other person had done previously ... that is win the Olympic and the World Road Race championships in the same year or even ever.

Should Murray even be considered for Sports Personality of the Year? Did he say he was not British the last time he was in the running? No one can deny what he has done this year, however Hamilton is No.1 of his sport, has broken the record books, rewritten history and all under pressure and intense drama.
