Chinese Grand Prix - 606 reaction

After Lewis's latest victory in Shanghai, surely the Brit has to win the drivers championship.

In a race which saw Hamilton nail the Chinese track, there were continuous battles for place elsewhere on the track.

"Should Hamilton now win the drivers' championship title?"RKW

Massa keeps up the pressure on Hamilton by finishing second, whilst the closest challenger to the top two, Robert Kubica, finished sixth, and is now effectively out of the title running.

With just the Brazilian Grand Prix to go in two weeks time on Novermber 2, Hamilton will be happily looking at the standings thinking, "this is my year".

But of course, even if there are only two genuine title conteners now, Massa isn't going to give this title up without a darn good fight.

Chinese Grand Prix final positions:
1. Hamilton (McLaren)
2. Massa (Ferrari)
3. Raikkonen (Ferrari)
4. Alonso (Renault)
5. Heidfeld (BMW Sauber)
6. Kubica (BMW Sauber)
7. Glock (Toyota)
8. Piquet (Renault)

Show of hands, those who think, given the slightest opportunity the stewards will decide the outcome of the last race in 2 weeks, and in whose favour?

koenigseggshell

It would not come as any sort of surprise as they seem, so far, to have held off this week.
Ferrari should have been punished for the embarrassing manner of the Massa pass on Kimi, he at least, looked embarrassed.
I get the impression that Kimi has pride and some standards. Will he walk out on Ferrari as though he is world champion he has not been given their support this year (a certain spanish driver comes to mind in this respect).

Well interestingly, I thought, ferrari said that Hamilton is a fast driver, that it is not so much that Mclaren are faster but that Hamilton is a quicker driver. For me that sounded like respect from Team Ferrari. So, all we need is for Hamilton to maintain his composure, realise taht he is only racing Massa that he only has to finsh 5th and he is World champ. Lewis, no heroics, just do a solid job and bring it home. Alonso, I thought he drove superbly too, a shame he and Hamilton could not be team memebers, it would be damn interesting.

that victory certainly makes the championship hamilton's to lose. it's really up to how Hamilton approaches the final race. if he goes for the victory in the final race, it could be problematic. I think Hamilton should aim to take pole and ensure he has a good position and hold it instead of going for a win

peter you are right . lewis should not bother about kimi and massa taking first and second position in brazil. it is less pressure for him

I think that if lewis throws away another fairly easy chance at the title, serious questions will be asked about his temperament

however i would be suprised if he didnt win

If LH wins he will be the youngest WDC so of course his temperament will be suspect until he gets the first under his belt.
He will also have won his first quicker than MS did as well.
