Does Massa deserve the title?

comment on the article

With Felipe Massa picking up more points from the racing stewards ( not the first time) for driving into Bourdais whilst Hamilton is being punished again, you have to ask the question how long before Massa starts to dedicate race wins to the stewards. All season long now he has been handed bonus points by the stewards whilst LH has been docked points even race wins at times.
The sad thing is that the FIA claim they want to encourage overtaking but in spa with one of the most exciting race finishes for a long time they take Hamiltons deserved race win aay from him for OVERTAKING kimi and award the race win to Felipe Massa who done absolutely nothing all race long.
IF the race was decided on the track like it should be instead of in the stewards room like it is Massa would'nt stand a chance against Hamiltons superior racing skills. So if Massa is handed the title.....err sorry i mean wins the title will he have deserved it?

I think McLaren need to take a leaf out of Ferrari's book here. They need to bring someone on board to mentor Lewis - as Schumacher did for Massa at Ferrari. They need someone who knows how to win world titles, the experience learned from the heat and pressure of contesting and winning titles against the best in the world. and someone with enough balls to give Lewis the 'slapping' he needs.

In short. McLaren, for me, need to bring Mika Hakkinnen back into the team as a driver coach.

i would rather see kubica win it now to be honest. Does a world champ deserve to win a title with only one win though?
===========================
I'd like to see Hamilton win, especially as he gave it to Raikkonen last year and is having to fight the stewards for every point this year but to answer your question, yes of course Kubica would deserve it if he only won race. That wouldn't be true if he was driving a Ferrari or a McLaren but he's not.
The fact that he's even being considered as a title contender shows what an amazing driver he is.
This is the problem with driver's championship, we can never know who is the best driver.
What would Kubica, Fettel, Button or Webber be capable of in a Ferrari?
Especially when they'd be winning extra points just for driving a Ferrari.

Nobody was criticising Hamilton's driving style - Webber actually likes it - but they just think he should just tone it down a bit. Keep it aggressive but not reckless. I think they're comments have been misinterpreted by the media.

Here's hoping for a good climax to the season.

F1 is a joke, full of pampered rich boys who think they are the dogs b*****ks. Hamilton represents a chance to shrug of this image and show that F1 is a competitive sport and just look at the reaction he has provoked. Aren't the drivers meant to be racing against each other? Aren't they meant to be competing against each other? I always thought motor sport was about who had the biggest balls and was prepared to take the most risks, I guess that doesn't apply to F1.

Good to see Webber putting Hamilton in the same bracket as Tiger Woods and Roger Federer. At least one of his rivals has regognised his sheer talent and is not just slating him through utter jealousy!

For people saying that Hamilton and Schumy are alike you have got to remember just how unpopular Schumy was.

He was hated by sections of drivers and fans.

Hamilton does not represent a working class - by god someone that acts likethat I wouldn't be seen dead with.

Great driver but the comments he makes and the fact he thinks he knows more about racing than the entire ferrari team?

He doesn't know more about racing than Schumy therefore he doesn't know more about racing than the entire team...

'I find it very appropriate, as at this point in Jacques' career, he had the same record as Lewis. If Jacques ended up being "uninspiring" after the same promising start, then you can't possibly tell me that Lewis has cemented his reputation yet'.

Villeneuve promised so much and ACTUALLY delivered very little.

In contrast Lewis has had a meteoric start to his career, one which any great driver would be proud of, he is totally commited and single minded, his driving style reminds me of the late Gilles Villeneuve.

Unlike that of Jacques Villeneuve who was NOT a great driver and became a journeyman in F1 until he FINALLY retired.

I am VERY sure the likes of Hamilton would'nt be too bothered by that!!

I think the whole debate about whether the stewards favour certain drivers is ridiculous. The reason Hamilton has had so many penalties is because at times he is a dangerous driver, for example: when he went into the back of raikkonen in the pit lane. To say that wasn't Hamilton's fault is just plain stupid. He is an aggressive driver and I think it does make the racing a lot more exciting however, he takes it too far sometimes by disobeying his team and putting other drivers at risk. He is an amazing driver with a lot of talent and I think he just needs to be brought back down to earth and realise that he does not own the track and that other drivers deserve his respect.
Oh and by the way, if the race stewards are so biased then why do they give Ferrari drivers penalties when they deserve them and why do they let Lewis get away with dangerous driving so often?
At the end of the day, football fans respect the refs decisions and us F1 fans need to respect the stewards and enjoy the sport for what it is instead of making up conspiricies and stuff
Well done to Hamilton for winning the driver's championship & well done to Massa for losing by just 1 point despite the terrible luck he's had this year winkeye
