The second last European Tour event of the year is here. 2008 was a great season and all these guys will be looking to finish the year on a high.

As always I will tip Robert Karlsson but maybe you guys know of a dark horse that might run away with it...

So who do think will win?

I'm hoping for a Graeme McDowell win. 67 today means he's in contention.

Having played the victoria course from the back tees whilst on holiday in portugal in may it makes you realise how good thr pro's actually are. I shot 82 (playing off 4) and played not bad; of the 8 of us there (handicaps between 1 & 6) only 2 broke 80, 1 guy off 1 shot 75 and another off 3 shot 76. Admittedly I'd been out on the lash and had about 2 hours sleep but the course was still tough!

As to who will win, I'd fancy mcdowell or the ubiquitous karlsson, but still live in the forlorn hope that monty will do the business!

Played Victoria a few times, didn't think it was that tough a course........but I didn't play off the back tees though!!! Guess that makes the difference.
I like Karlsson, but hope he doesn't do too well this week, leaving a fight for the OOM still on at Valderama!

Good to see the Portugal winner will rake in 38 world ranking points, vs about 32 for the Vegas victor.

Thanks Robert Karlsson.

There's a few fighting to retain their card for 2009 doing well, could be a nervous weekend for Stuart Manley, Garry Houston, Sam Walker and Sion Bebb.

Did you guys see Camillo's uncle was assassinated earlier this week? Must put his appearance at Sergio's event in question I would have thought.

Apart from anything else, this surely is a huge tragedy for Camillo, trying to represent his country with his great joie de vivre . . . . and then this happens. Awful.

It's nice to see Paul Lawrie on the leaderboard again. I've followed him since I saw him win The Open at Carnoustie in 1999. I hope he can win some tournaments next season. He's a solid golfer.

Paul Lawrie got next to no coverage and finished second!! Its about time the Beeb hacks start waxing lyrical about him. Remember still the only Brit to win a major in more than 10 years and a great supporter of junior golf in Scotland. A marvellous performance in Portugal after a tough year.

Glad to see Simon Dyson finishing well up the field. He's a local lad.

He's exceptionally moody and arrogant too!
