Premier League Manchester City

Its pretty obvious Beckham has a sponsorship deal with the FA, he gets played no matter what, his team are 10th in the MLS, he has been playing rubbish for them but no matter who the manager is he always gets picked and always ends up playing about 2 minutes at the end and getting a cap for it!

He got dropped for about 3 games then came back straight away when the dust had settled! Now he comes on and gets cap after cap until he reaches the appearance record for doing nothing at all!

It winds me up how hypocritical and money obsessed the FA are! All this about United getting fined 25K for get about 7 bookings, whats the point in that and wheres the money going. Its going towards their christmas party and bonuses!

BVeckham was incredible last night-the way he posed for the snappers was soooooooo him!Hes such a doll,i dont care that hes never performed against a proper team and failed at 5 consequetive events, hes still an absolute english "legend".ok

That clown bobby moore has nothing on our "becks".Moore couldnt even invent that sublime WAG culture that beckham did, disgraceful from moore, what was he playing at?

Stop knocking Beckham you muppets - it is hardly his fault if Fabio thinks he is worth having around for his knowledge and experience - I still think he can come on and make a difference when we need it - and so does Fabio. If we are 1-0 down to Argentina in the semi-final with ten minutes to go, who would you rather have come on - Bentley? W-Phillips? Lennon? Downing? One cross, one header from Crouch/Heskey and Beckham is worth his place.

When SWP and Crouch came on last night there was a small caption at the foot of the screen informing viewers of the changes. When Beckham came on I swear I thought there would be a tickertape parade throughout the streets of Belarus. There would be a carnival of Rio de Janeiro proportions to announce the arrival of the Messiah as the Chosen One strode victoriously onto the pitch to show the mere mortals how to take the inch-perfect corner.

And I'm convinced everytime David Pleat mentioned Beckham's name a small bulge made itself apparent in the front of his trousers.

for me beckhams wasted corners-who can forget the way he fa rted up everyone at world cup 2002 for example-are just "legendary".Lampard should take note-the way he messed up by putting it ferdinands head the other day was a disgrace. And Lampard dares to think theres other aspects of being a idfielder-hes wrong.Ask our "becks"-only he knows that you ballerina around a football pitch and do absolutely nothing until the game goes dead-then you race as far as your little legs wil take you to try all out for personal glory for which our hero "becks" has 5 successful free-kicks from taking them for over 100 games-and a mighty total of 0 scored in over a decade v first world nations-what a true, true "legend".ok

Yes, any of these. Beckham doesn't play right wing anymore. He's that slow he virtually plays as a right back. Capello must have a bet going that Beckham will beat Bobby Moore's record because I cannot think of a single other reason he is in the squad. Time to look to the future, not the failures of the past.

maybe capello has a clause in his contract, that the more minutes beckham gets and therefore the more column inches England get around the world (and therefore the FA), then he gets some sort of beckham bonus.
Like a goal or win bonus, but with no positive footballing outcome

Its quite funny this article, had Beckham ever stooped so low as to play for Man City then everyone on here would be saying how much of a shame it is that he isn't playing more for England and that he should probably still be Captain.
