Capello...you've gotta love him.

World Cup England
comment on the article

Like I say. If you are a England fan you have to love the guy, after a few dodgy first halves his team talks and tactical changes make a huge dii\fference for the second half.
Best England manager in a eon.
Well done England, Perfect second half and I was truly happy to see Gerrard play well, despite his open goal miss.
4 Games 12 points...perfect
Just wanted to add after seeing so many comments that I never said that we were going to win the world cup.
Was just trying to point out how well Fabio is doing, especially his half time changes, it is so nice to feel a sense of optimism for a change.
Well done England, well done Fabio.

Capello is sure a good manager. Like fergie, Wenger, Benitez and Scolari. The best on english soil.Only none of them are english. Why is that so?

Clue? They make their teams play the ball on the ground. And play a passing game.

Don't you think the english coaches should follow suit?

Shankly75 - you need to calm down with your biased Liverpool chat mate. Just remember that you are a minority on here!

Everyone on here has a club team we support but we don't feel the need to advertise it.

We are talking about ENGLAND.

ps Carragher is an absolute disgrace and insults every englishman in this country with those comments in his book, including yourself.

Good comment mate.. Every Englishmen should support England. I respect Liverpool fans for their famous european nights but I'm fed up of a lot of their attitudes towards the national team with banners like "we're not English, we are Scouse" Since when did Liverpool become more important than our nation?? Who do they support then? Brazil because they won something 5 times like them?? Pathetic

Well Shankly - I won't say the obvious like "reckon you should get out more and travel the world or something".
Seriously, I respect your opinion and you are not alone but when a teams club side have a manager who happens to be 10 times better than the national coach surely you are only asking for trouble - everyone starts saying "why doesn't he play like he does for his club side?"
Luckily the FA have finally come round to the idea that we have a lack of top, experienced, successful English coaches - like yourself they thought it best to have an English manager and hence their ill-fated appointment of Steve McClaren. They finally realised that we did not have any homegrown managers with the necessary quality to take us forward and hired Capello - they seem to have got something right for once!
I, for one, would've hated to harp on to my future grandchildren "We weren't that good at football in those days and didn't often make the world cup or Euro finals but at least we had an English manager!!!
It's good to be patriotic - to want your country to win but it's also good to be competitive, to have hope and faith in the players and manager and to be able to compete with the best teams - if this is what it takes for England to become successful than so be it - would rather this than another lame 2nd rate tactically inept English manager any day!!

I'm not English but I do watch alot of the England games. The team has improved but to be honest when was the last time the team was really tested, I'm sorry but Belerus and Kazatstan should not trouble the England team on there best day. I feel the next 2 friendlies will put everything in propectus, Germany and Spain will really test the team/managers ability. On a plus note England have been brill to watch.

It is striking how much better a team Capello has playing for him than the last manager.

The keys seem to be.

1. One person is in complete command, and it's Capello.
2. He's taken what England has and made the most of it. This means the three most dangerous players spread across the field (Cole/Gerrard, Rooney and Lennon), giving all of them space, with Heskey to occupy the CMs near the goal and Lampard to threaten from a little deeper. It also means everyone passing in an intelligent way, clearly the result of practicing well.

RedWhiteandermblue,
Having read your comment, I feel like I have just had a spiritual experience.

Come down to earth!
England has beaten two countries that most of the population had never heard off until two weeks ago. Granted 6 points is 6 points, but don't get carried away just yet.
