Zabeel Investments have confirmed they are hoping to finalise a takeover of Championship outfit Charlton Athletic 'as soon as they can'.

The process of due diligence is now taking place as Zabeel Investments look to gain a foothold in English football.

Jbran Rahal, managing director of Zabeel Capital, a unit of the investment firm, believes the Addicks offer the group great potential for the future.

"Charlton has a great heritage and passionate fans and great potential," Rahal told Reuters. "Hopefully, if things go well, we will move with Charlton as soon as we can.

"We are going through the due diligence process."

Nothing ground breaking here I know.

What I really want is either a definitive yes or no so we can stop being in this period of uncertainty! Definitely would like to know before the Cardiff game.

A2C
Is there any chance you could write in plain english. It's almost impossible to understand what you are saying. It's no wonder CAFC babes kicked you off

a2c - Yes you have the right to disagree with people's comments, these boards would be incredibly boring if everyone agreed with each other, but the insulting is very unecessary, that's all we are trying to say.

whether there is a vote or not - the board (who have already decided they want this) own enough of the club for it to go through regardless of what the rank and file want - if the bid is confirmed then acceptance is a formality!

a2c,

I don't think anyone on here is 100% anti takeover, i think that some people are just cautious when assesing how this can affect our club.

Personally i think it will affect us in a positive way, but everyone has a right to their own opinion, and i dont blame people for thinking that this may be a negative thing.

Change can be a very good thing (especially the change taking place at CAFC), but its not always easy to accept/embrace especially when you've been use to something being one way for such a long time (always in fact!)

I have no problem accepting/embracing this change, because i think it will do great things for this footbal club, but we should not criticise others for not doing the same.

In time, i think everyone will be behind the new owners, once they are satisfied the direction CAFC is heading under their ownership. Some will be quicker to do this some will be slower, it DOESN'T matter either way!

So with the weekend approaching, LETS GET BEHIND OUR TEAM!!

COME ON THE ADDICKS!!

Thass wot I think PA but at this time every fan should back the board. The board own the club after all n the rank n file should give them their full support otherwise we ave to make sure the right fans are shareolders next time when iss so important for the future of our club n risks that Zabeel are takin to pour millions dahn our grahnd that it goes through withahrt dissent.

A2C I personally agree with the takeover as I feel the Board have the best interests of the club at heart and have proved that over many years. I do not feel that Mr Murray would want to put at risk his years of re-building the Club & ground into an organisation and stadium in which all supporters can be justly proud.

However, you can not; in a democratic society filter out shareholders who may disagree with management’s decisions as these are the very people who ensure that an organisation is run for the benefit of all stakeholders and not in the interest of a chosen few. Look at the banks if you want to see what can go wrong when shareholders just agree with all of management’s decisions!

I have always thought we have had a good relationship, on here, A2C so I am sure you understand that this is not a pop at you but people who disagree with the takeover are NOT anti Charlton they just have a different view on the takeover than you and this should be respected just like you total agreement to the Boards course of action should be respected by others.

I ear wot ur sayin allell n know thass the way the world works ahrt there. Sometimes I think a board as to go only 1 way if iss the right way and in business iss the only way to get things done in the right way, sometimes there's 2 options; forwards or backwards n like you I know where I'm goin - thass ahead.
