Can’t wait

World Cup England

Not long now til the RL World Cup. I, for one, can’t wait. I think it’s gonna be a fantastic. Lets get behind our boys, whether it’s Eng, Scotland or Ireland.

And lets hope the media get involved a bit more too. The thought of Jamie Peakcock leading the boys out on the world stage is huge. Lets get some national pride in ‘the greatest game’.

Forget the negative vibes. We’re in the comp and we’ve got a great chance.

I can feel my voice is gonna be going very soon. Roll on the 25th October.

solly,

It is interesting to read your comments in re; to France, we in OZ would'nt know of there form at all.
Other then those that get to see the Catalans.

It is good to hear that you feel they will be a force of some kind.
Cheers

"So everyone else are fighting to see who will be runners up"

The un-educated would advise you of this. Those of us with an ounce of RL knowledge would tell you that the other 9 teams are not simply their to make up the numbers.

Andrew Hendersons blog, PNG article on BBCSport and Jamie Peacock interviews will testify to that effect!

We're all aware of the negative aspects of this World Cup, but rest assured, the players can be relied upon to rescue the tournament, like they always do. Why is our game cursed with people at the top who don't share our love, passion and determination to see our great game succeed ? I think it was the 1990 world cup that was such a huge success, played here in England with an Emerging Nations competition running in parallel, all domestic fixtures postponed and, as a result, some fantastic games with huge crowds. Possible one of the best games I ever saw was New Zealand v Tonga at Wilderspool and thousands were locked out when Wales (with a team full of real Welshmen)took on Samoa in Swansea. But as usual, the powers-that-be can't see further than the end of their noses and we never had a repeat of the same formula. What a tragedy, but we can only hope that the players can produce a tournament to remember and that England can bring the cup home home.

Rovers Return: 'Those of us with an ounce of knowledge will tell you that the other nine are not just there to make the numbers up'. Exactly. Only anyone with only an ounce of knowledge would seriously believe that 'Scotland', PNG, etc, have any chance at all of keeping the score below 50 against the main three, never mind winning.

legendaryezy,

From an OZ point of view, I feel you and a hell of a lot of other England supporters are truly being to negative towards your chances of winning this world cup!!!

Whether it's because you lads have been in a similar situation before to only cop a defeat or not, I don't know, but from an outsiders point of view, "your England side are the real deal"

All hype aside, I think N-Z are shot ducks unfortunately with there injury crisis.

So I feel it is down to Eng. Vs Aus. come the big one, and IMO the only difference between the two sides come the final will be who has got through the best in re; to injuries.

So whether it's the results of the past or the hesitation in wanting to be confident in this cup campaign, please don't be so negative or you will end up with an ulser when deep inside you do truly believe you have got one hell of a chance of taking this cup back home.

cheers OZ by 5 points
