So Moyes has finally signed a new contract, what are you views?

From BBC Sport:

Manager David Moyes has ended speculation over his future by signing a new five-year deal at Everton, BBC Merseyside understands.

Moyes delayed signing on the deal and admitted it may have unsettled his players, who went out of the Carling Cup and the Uefa Cup in eight days.
What difference does it make really? A contract means less then nothing in football nowadays.

Since I took over six years ago, I think there has been an improvement and the job is that I want a similar improvement over the next five years or so," added Moyes.

"I want the ambition to be greater. I want the expectancy to be higher and I want Everton overall to be higher on the field and off the field, I am determined to try and take it forward."

But he recently revealed: "I am here and I will sign a new contract with Everton shortly."

The 45-year-old has been in charge at Goodison Park since March 2002.

why do you come on everton's boards, sparkynut? is it because some everton fans come on yours? is that it? or is it just because you get a kick out of baiting people into confrontation?

sparky - I'm in work debating how much of a d ick you are. So far you are 10/10 (n)ob cheese.

The women seem to think you have a lil one.... Is that why you are so bitter?

They also ask why do you support a team that can't beat Brighton...

HOW MANY EUROPEAN CUPS HAVE LFC WON? hmmmmm answer - FIVE -ONLY FOR HEYSEL - SIX ---NOW TELL ME HOW MANY EUROPEAN CUPS HAVE EVERTON WON? hmmmmm answer - ZILCHhhhhhhh now dont come back and harp on about the ECWC its not the 'BIG' one however CITY won that trophy themselves in 1970 --finally I ask HOW MUCH IS EVERTON's DEBT AND CAN THEY AFFORD A NEW STADIUM? OUR NEW OWNERS ARE BUYING EASTLANDS AND THE LAND SURROUNDING BACK FROM THE COUNCIL FOR £300M -PEANUTS TO THEM!!!!!

If you knew anything about football, you'd know a football teams debt it completely irrelevant to the owners wealth. Just because a trillionaire owns Man City, doesn't mean they aren't in debt any more, thats just not how it works in the PL.

Everton Debt: £26million
Man City Debt: £103million

for the record

Liverpool Debt: £350million

and for some perspective, Chelsea, owned by of course Mr Abramovic

Chelsea Debt: £736million

Check your facts, please.

it was good to see in these days of recession and credit crunch Mr moyes settled for £60000 per week, Im sure well deserved as he is a leader of industry and will hopefully make life so much better for us all.
maybe at some point we will realise that these so called sporting heroes are overpaid and over here!!
I for one will be delighted to see Everton go down and then we will see that if that is £60000 well spent!!!

How can you value the work that DM has done at EFC?

In 5 years that he has been at the club he has raised our expectations to demand European Football.

If you had asked any EFC fans what they wanted 5 years ago i'm sure the answer would have been "to stay in the PL"

Only a fool would think that EFC would be relegated. Of course we are not immune to such a factor, however it is very doubtful.

If a player can command £150k a week then his boss can command more.

and sadly u raise the point that a player get £150k a week as if it is quite norm for this to happen.
Mr Moyes is not worth £600000 pounds a week, a week!!!
No player or manager is worth the money that is being thrown at football.
Unless you are amazingly stupid im sure you would agree

Sparky - have the years of living in the shadow of the only club in Manchester to have won anything for decades, made you the sad bitter get that you are?

Or are you just a complete end bell, who can thing of nothing else to do than wind up other clubs fans?

You're a c o c k head mate - & btw just typing the word FACT in bold doesn't make it one - some of your FACTS are figments of your twisted version of reality - cupid stunt.

Fortunately, Mr Moyes is not being paid 60000 per week, and as to the comments that no player is worth that amount of money - why would they pay it then? Could it be that these players help generate money for the club? I'm sure Everton are thinking exactly the same thing about their manager, and had Mr Moyes not signed a new contract, and potentially ended up as the latest Tottenham manager for the next 2 months, then Everton would have received about 4 quid in compensation for a manager who has clearly done something right given the durge that we have had to watch since Joe Royle left. Should Everton find themselves with a disgruntled manager come January, how much compensation money will they get? And how much would they have had to pay for a new manager had Moyes gone?

Sounds like good business to me, but hey, we could make ourselves really successful by appointing an ex-Manc 'new Alex Ferguson' which seems to be the fashion these days.

2 points he is being paid £60k a week and for you to ignore the points about overpaid footballers and managers means you and everton deserve each other, hopefully when you are relegated moral sense will take over
enjoy
