Fans Let Down AgainPremier League Liverpool by purescousemachine (RedBrigadier) (U11249748) 14 October 2008 Hello Fellow scousers, I'm writing this article to express my concern for the Atletico match, like many season ticket holders,I've booked my flights and hotel accomodation for the match with thomas cook,I then switch on ssn and to my disgust hear that UEFA have decided to change the venue in order to punish atletico along with fines because of the racist chanting against marseille, now don't get me wrong it's good to see UEFA take action against racism because that is unacceptable in any walk of life but in terms of the decision to move the match then once again football fans get treated like dirted,I am furious and can imagine a lot of people on these boards are as well male or female, especially those going to the match like me, the most annoying thing is the bloody short notice, the match isn't two far away and they make the decision now,I've made this article so that you my fellow liverpool fans and scousers and even general football fans can discuss the treatment that we constantly get with things like this Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

lordbensorin (U13409884) posted Oct 15, 2008 This is UEFA wanting to be seen to be doing something, when it actually will disadvantage the Liverpool fans and side more (Athletico fans will stand more chance of being able to travel within their own country at short notice than Liverpool fans who've booked to arrive and stay in Madrid). If UEFA wanted to punish Athletico they would have moved it to a different country altogether or docked points. This way the racist Athletico fans will think their racism has done their team a real favour.

redbeeb (U9287074) posted Oct 15, 2008 I also am disgusted with UEFA but frankly not surprised, they are so inept it is unbelievable. This is yet another example of the uselessness of those who run European football as they could have simply said the punishment was to commence after the LFC match. I think they should pay the expenses incured by Liverpool fans due to the late decision without delay.

Valkichu (U13637817) posted Oct 15, 2008 I am spanish. I used to live in the UK some time ago and I loved people there, but I am sorry, I can not accept that hooligans, the most violent supporters in the world give us behavioral lessons: "Racism is not tolerable", well, so beat people is, is not it? I am not an Atletico supporter, actually I am Real Madrid supporter but EVERYONE -even me- saw how french supporters were causing all the trouble.Nothing to do with "racism" or anything like that. We are tired of all this "racism" nonsense, so please, keep informed. Peace!

quietMrsFrosty (U6602682) posted Oct 16, 2008 Don't know about FIFA and UEFA not liking England, but Liverpool are certainly a favourite team of UEFA - illustrated by their climbdown on the ban today, "so that they don't inconvenience Liverpool fans". Comment on this article |
