As a wakefield fan adam watene has been nothing but an absolute professional while being at the club, he was a tremendous prop forward who made plently of yards, and always helped out the team in there hour of need. This guy never put a step back never shy-ed away from a tackle or a run. On the occasions i met him he was a kind, gentle guy who answered all your questions and who you could have a rugby conversation with sadly this last year has been a bad one for him personally with the passing of his father however he always battled for the cause, im sure fans of opposing clubs acknowledge he was a threat to them and was generally a good guy on the field aswell.

For me he was one of the 1st names on the team-sheet
Condolences to his family & friends

Adam Watene (1977-2008) you will be sorely missed from all at wakefield R.I.P

As a family man and father of three, my thoughts are with his wife and children at this sad time.

Cheers Adam, you'll be missed mate . . . . . but fondly remembered.

I'm a player myself, not to Super League standard, or anything near, but, as a player, and a fan, to see someone who you admire both as a player and a person, pass on so tragically, in what has been a difficult year already for the Wakefield club, defies belief. Lets hope that his tragic loss doesn't damage the efforts of his teammates, his club, and his fans, to further what I term as the greatest game.

RIP Adam Watene.

Rob.

I think this will act as a spur for the Wildcats next season, all the reported fallouts I think will be put in perspective after this and I predict a good yr on the field at least for wakey

Good Luck

Adam Eatene will be remembered as a quality guy and a respected player, I always looked out for him and admired the way he played, fearless, brave and skilled with the ball it was clear he had the strength and quality to lift his team and he demanded respect from his opponents.
He will be missed by the game and my heart and thoughts go to his family with deepest sympathy
