Japan predictions and 606 update

comment on the article

Hello again. I'll be doing the live text commentary for the Japanese Grand Prix and just wanted to update you on 606.

All fingers crossed the boards should be open at 5am on Sunday in time for the race.

So, it'll be lovely to get your thoughts during the race but do feel free to get us going with some early predictions.

Do you think Lewis Hamilton will tighten his grip on the championship after grabbing pole - or can Ferrari fight back in Fuji?

I see that Ferrari Mafia (So sorry - the stewards) have been at it again!!
How the h*ll can they possibly say that Bordais was at fault?
F1 is becoming a joke and losing credibility with the public.

Hello all,

Like everyone i have been questioning the impartiality of the Fia's decisions as well as Massa's dodge'em car driving. However 2 of my posts have been removed, i consider myself a pretty fair poster is the word cheating unacceptable?

I wonder if the F in FIA stands for Ferrari? Although Lewis's lunge at the first corner was silly and desperate, it is no worse than has happened throughout the 58 year history of Formula One.

The penalty, although a bit picky, was one of those things. The penalty for Massa jumping the chicane and seeming to aim for Lewis was entirely justified as it mirrored Prost/Senna 1989 and 1990 and Schumacher/Hill 1995 in the gallery of deliberate acts to win the championship.

The one I cannot comprehend is that Bourdais came out of the pits, kept to his side of the white line and had the corner to hold his position. In that situation, it is the job of the persuing driver to try and find a way past without contact. Bourdais didn't block him and I daresay Massa was so far to the left, Bourdais didn't even see him. So, Massa hits the car in front and the car in front is held to blame.

Answers on a postcard please.

After 30 years of watching F1, I am disappointed that the most competitive phase of racing and closest parity between cars for years is being spoilt by the championship rivals driving like 3 year olds and stupid decisions by the stewards. After 30 years of watching, I shall have a lie in next week.

<Grr>

LH affected at least 10 racers, Massa only affect one driver, so LH deserved to be punished more.

Why are Hamilton's shunts exciting racing and Massa's cheating?

Hamilton's start at the grand prix could have started a mass crash when everyone was under acceleration. Utter folly

So worried about formula one at the moment.

I have stuck through it for many years with the dull races and monotonous seasons, but now my strength is really being tested.
As if the current finacial state wasn't bad enought and environmentalists out to stop f1 at all costs, always mentioning the carbon footprint of gp's ect, now the fia are making howlers.

How did Massa get promoted up a place for what happend with Bourdais (and him to get demoted so badly) when all Massa got was a drivethrough meaning nothing because of the race stage.

Am tempted to believe the drivethrough was only because hamilton also got a penalty. (for nothing. Awarding a penalty for that is like awarding a penalty for everytime a player has his shirt tugged in the box from a corner in football.

In the most exciting season in years, my faith in the sport is greatly shaken after some shockingly poor descisions. Soon drivers will be afraid to race for fear of penalties. Shame

I agree Dan.
The latest farce is worrying.
I'm not of a big fan of Hamilton but this whole thing about pushing Massa up to 7th has gone way too far. SB did nothing wrong as far as I could see, except not allowing a Ferrari to pass.
An extra point here and it could mean be the WC title seeing how close it is.
Total BS
