The worst kit in the history of sport?

European
comment on the article
Stade Francais' latest kit offering

Paris. City of haute couture, very rich old women with aggressive poodles under their arms and a rugby team with a penchant for the outrageous when it comes to kit design.

Only this time Stade Francais have really, really outdone themselves.
Not content with their regular shocking pink number, or their Hawaiian shirt-inspired effort from last season, France's top side have gone all Andy Warhol with their latest design, which will be on show at Ravenhill in their opening Heineken Cup fixture against Ulster on Saturday.

Their new strip has multicoloured images of Blanche de Castille, wife of Louis VIII and mother to Louis IX (how obvious).

Yes, a big, burly front-rower will be wearing that. Imagine trying to persuade Jeff Probyn to pop that on.

But their philosophy to couture seems to be working as Stade have just recorded their seventh successive victory in the Top 14 with a 34-16 victory over Montauban.

OK, so you're never going to wear that down your local - or anywhere else in fact - but you've got to hand it to Stade, it's unique.

So what do you think? The most ridiculous faux pas in kit history of sport or a bit of harmless fun?

You decide. Just don't stare at it for too long.

At least there trying something new, better than all the mordern sport kits that all look the same. i think it looks stylish!

I picked up this season's pink one but this one wasn't avaliable... sadly.

And if you want you can probbaly get one from the stade francais club shop, just google it.

Bluesfan, as an 18 stone bloke with a beer belly I will be buying the new cardiff kit. however the stade kit isn't cut for us larger lads, so their loss.

The kit is pretty shocking, but it's genius marketing for Stade Francais (It even had a mention on Jonathan Ross last night). Lots of people talking about the club and the kit, if it gets a few extra punters through the gates it will be a job well done!

Another master PR stroke by the sublimely bonkers Max Guazzini! I spend time in France and England so I've got two teams to support, but though Wasps are always number one, I have got to say that going to Stade matches knocks the socks off Adams Park in terms of entertainment value!

Do you remember when Bath had a yellow kit?

Oooo not good.

What above Northamption's Maroon Kit!?!

Funnily enough both teams were rubbish at the time, which leads me to believe that there is magical power within traditaion rugby kits that allow the players to carry out herculean tasks and beat any other team in the world.

Although I'm not quite sure where that leave Leicester. I think their green and maroon stripey kit from a few seasons ago must've angered the gods.

That theory certainly explains England. If Johhno wants to put together a decent england side then I say scrap all the garish red bits and go back to pure white kit! Thou shalt not wear red stripey bits! I put my foot down when the current kit came out I went to the nearest habadashery and knitted me own woolly England top! Its even got a Tortoise on the back.
