Pavlyuchenko injury blessing in disguise?

Ramos now has no pressure whatsoever to play him for 3 weeks meaning we may get some stability playing the 4-5-1 with Bent upfront which worked so well pre-season and also against Chelsea.

If he's out for 3 weeks and our next game isn't for 2 weeks (due to internationals) it's not going to make too much difference.

If we do play Bent up front alone then he can perform there as long as we play the kind of passes that he can use his pace to run onto (as happened in pre-season and at Charlton). When he's played up front alone this season balls have been played into his feet or he's had to drop deep to get the ball - this is not what suits him

I agree we looked like we might actually score aginst Hull but were just unlucky at times.
I think a 4-5-1 could work but with one of the central midfielders being either Dos Santos or Modric sitting just behind Bent. I cant see any other option than the 4-5-1 for the next few games so just have to hope that they do learn to play with each other.

Bentley
Modric
Dos Santos

Bent

unfortunately, for spurs, they are too easy to get at in the middle and will struggle badly this season.

4-5-1....????

The reason we are so bad, besides lacking leadership and confidence, is because we have been using that formation! Its tedious!

We should play a 4-4-2; Campbell up front with Bent or Pavlyuchenko. Then lennon, Zokora, Modric, bentley in the middle (Jenas dropped), then Bale, Woodgate, King, Corluka in defence...

listen, we all know that spurs are now gonna struggle with or without pavlova or whatever name is ,the best they can hope for is a draw against the mighty reds on the 29 before they get relegated to the league where quite frankly they belong!!

Ramos has to go with Dos Santos as an attacking midfielder which we know works so well with bent up front.

My starting line up would be:
Gomes

Assou-Ekotto
King
Woodgate
Gunter/Corluka (probably Gunter)

Lennon
Modric
Bale
Dos Santos (attacking midfielder/supporter to Bent)
Jenas

Bent

My subs:
Sanchez
Dawson
Corluka/Gunter (probably Corluka)
Huddlestone
Cambpell
O'Hara
