RP say we will not see her in the US. There is also a decision to be made in the next week on her future,

“We will make a decision in four or five days because it is a big decision to make. We have to respect the filly and there is not much left for her to do. You can't ask them to do too much in their lives.” RD

Zarkava is unlikely to make for a good broodmare - look at the mares in her family and the immediate mares on her sire's side.

Keep her in training please.

Jus read this comment from AP_McCoy What aload of rubbish this guy speaks!! (U just have to read the thread he ust posted to see that!!) She is one of the best bred fillies around, yes us as punters would love to see her around next year, but lets be honest if any one of us owned a breeding empire and made our money through horse breeding would we not want to get someone win the bloodline of her into the fields and breeding as quickly as possible??

^ Do yourself a favour and look at the mares I have asked you to look at, then come back and tell me if they were great producers of champions or not. Exactly.

Why would thy retire Zarcave? I'm a horse racing novice I don' mind admitting it so was wondering if anyone could tell me the thinking behind this?

Money.

They will make a lot more from her going to stud ASAP than they can on the racecourse.

Also there is risk involved with racing (she could get an injury and have to be put down). There is very little risk in going to stud. Unless she was infertile, of course. Then we would see her racing again.

i cant understand the money arguement. if she races for another year she would prob earn more than the one foal she will prodouce would sell for. her owner is not goin to sell her anyway so whats the point?

this is why flat racing is crap. arabs in it for the money, you get one year for the best horses and that's it. it's not a sport, it's a business.

i dont think the arabs in horse-racing are short of a bob or 2.
