Im so glad to hear this, Kubica has had a great season and Heidfeld i feel has had a lot of harsh critisim and i really wanted him to stay, i felt he was still deserving of his drive as someone pointed out in a really good article before, sorry dont know who you are. So this leaves Alonso with Honda or Renault probably, personally I think he will stay at Renault

Found the article lol thanx to Sectator of Mr Biffo

Happy for nick he deserved his chance at bmw and another season, personally i think the car is better adapted to Kubica's style of driving, however next season could see the tables turned.

*Mezzer99 so I guess we wont be hearing from King Alonso for a while! laugh So I guess Mrs Alonso will have to stick with Renault for another season or two. What would be hilarious is if Ferrari somehow sign Hamilton as that would render the end of his career!

If Nick can sort his qualifying issues out there is no reason why he can't beat Kubica next season.

People seem to be forgetting that, although Kubica got BMW's long awaited win, Heidfeld has actually had 4 second place finishes this season alone (although the second place at Spa was unjustified IMO but he still would've been on the podium). I think both deserve a drive for next season as they've been still been consistently getting into high points scoring positions in a car that has had serious development stopped for this season.

Next season will have quite a few drivers winning races and more challenging for the WDC.

hahaha alonso your going no-where!

SportsAddict2000 I cant see Hamilton moving to ferrari for a number of years, Hamiltons relationship with Ron will probably keep him at Mclaren...once Ron retires that maybe a different story

I had noticed that Heidfeld does look like a young Barry Gibb!

i think you will find that BMW offered Alonso a contract for 3 years and he said no.
Otherwise why did they wait until now to confirm their team.
Renault have been equal to BMW in the last 4/5 races as BMW's improvment has stalled completely after a strong start.
I think Alonso is wise to stay at Renault.
As for being finished i think he won 2 WDC at Renault...now when was the last time a McLaren driver has won the WDC? And Mclaren have spent millions more!

2nd and 3rd last season and only missed out by a point, leading this year....so tell me how many races Renault have won....once and that was a fluke,

Alonso if he did really have the chance to join BMW he will be kicking himself next season as BMW are better than Renault

kingmansell:
1 race the same as bmw...to date.

2nd and 3rd last season really isnt winning! and i hope you dont want to start that hilarious instant of 'how to throw away a championship that is yours'

anyway this about next season and the point that heidfelds seat was apperently offered to alonso, and i think alonso choose wisely not to go if this rumour is true.

i might be proved wrong and you may be proved right but we can only wait and see.

historically renualt have a very good record when it comes to winning the championships, better than bmw, sauber and maybe mclaren too.

There is more chance of Hamilton racing for a Croatian team than Ferrari.

How many black guys do you see playing for the Italian football team?

Enough said I'm afraid.
