Is this expecting Too much from Kimi?

Formula One
comment on the article

F1 we all know anything can happen, drivers make their own luck on the track and this is exactly what kimi would have to do

Maybe his poor qualifying has been deliberate? and that he now wants to execute his master plan?

Kimi has to qualify behind lewis, so he can show him up for the real amatuer he is (so messing with that comment) apply immense pressure on lewis where he has the highest probability of lewis retiring then hunt down that chareleton Massa and exert the same pressure and claim 30 pts maximum pts lewis and felipe have no option but to cry in their milk shakes and we all bow down to the brilliance of Kimi Rakkinnen.. the new Alonso.

Kimi was and is the the fastest driver in F1. Ferrari need to give him a car worthy of his abilities. To that end they should get Michael Schumacher as far away from the team as possible.

Ferrari have to give kimi the car he wants but kimi has to know what he wants and here lies the problem.

I think comparing mika and michael are useful, 2 great drivers but one is exceptional at developing the car, I remember a comment here and have no idea if it is true or not, but Alonso is alleged to have said he knew why kimi was not able to win in the mclaren.. now how comes Kimi did not know? maybe because he solely relies on others to give him the car.

Also don't forget Kimi would have been "measured up" for the ferrari and he basically would have had a blank canvas to work with. I simply can't accept that ferrari are setting up their cars for MS as he isn't driving them and the idea just doesn't hold water. I think its safe to say that the renault is a long way behind the ferrari's but Alonso, and his incredible skill towards car set up/developing is making the car perform better.. kimi has no excuses imho.

i think that its just a bit of bad luck from Kimi. When the car is at the best, you see Kimi just making those fastest laps -- like in Singapore before his pit stop. He was even faster than Massa at some point. Bad luck -- just like in Magny-Cours wherein the exhaust of his car just bounce and was flown away out of his car. He is on a slump, and he is really doing something to bring back wins under his name, its just that maybe its not his year. He still has a shot of winning the title, but he has a much bigger and taller mountain to climb compared to last year's championship..

I think i am not counting kimi's bad luck, which is a little unfair of me, but this is f1, the season has had more wet races than usual.. but kimi not that long ago had a new chassis which he claimed he was very pleased with.

I do realise that I may come across as harsh on Kimi's misfortunes but he is the defending WDC and not looking that impressive.. still THREE races to go and we may yet see kimi drive the race/races of his career and if he does no one will be happier than me.. I just want to see him race and show us just why he is the defending WDC,, saw it at the start of the season with a stonking drive from kimi.. I really did feel he was laying down the gauntlet in Oz okay he made errors but I thought he was the most spectacular driver to watch that day.

What happened is. At the end, of 2006. Alonso had his first McLaren test. Using; the car Kimi had driven. In the 2006 season. Alonso meant, he knew. Kimi could not win, in McLaren in 2006. Because the car, was so bad.

It`s just not a point of Kimi telling Ferrari what he wants. The problem starts with Ferraris philosophy when it comes to car-design. This philosophy is heavily influenced by the era of Michael Schumacher. Michael Schumacher spent 3 years at Ferrari to implement this philosophy before the car was good enough to win the championship. After that he spent the rest of his career developing cars with the same characteristics. It`s no surprise it takes a couple of years for Ferrari to change this philosophy.

Last years car was even built to be gentle on the tires with respect to the front of the car and especially the wishbones. Since Ferrari won the championship last year they thougt it was a success when it was not.. This year they`ve developed this characteristic even further and suffer in qualifying and in the wet..

Furthermore I don`t think the 2008 Ferrari is a great car. I don`t think the 2008 McLaren is a particularly great car either. This can clearly be seen from the fact that we have had 7 drivers and 5 teams winning races this year. Unless both Ferrari and McLaren get their act together other teams could dominate next season.

That`s a point often overlooked. The difference between the best teams and the others is getting smaller and smaller. Furthermore F1 does not have supreme drivers like Prost, Senna og Schumacher these days. What F1 does have is 7 or 8 drivers that are all well capable of winning races..

powerformula1.. thats exactly what its about.. my own perception of teams in general is that they treat thier drivers like oily rags...in my own head, i believe that all the drivers deserve much better treatment.. i am minded of a recent gp where we heard so and so telling someone to push harder, .. patronising PEN PUSHER.. I expect everything from defending WDC's.. its my computer.
