"why have spurs only "scraped through" when they were, on the basis they scored first, never in real danger of oging out. the onyl way they could have gone out was krakow scoring another and forcing extra time, or scoring two in just a few minutes. BBC on the other hand say Portsmouth won in dramatic fashion."

Why? - because Portsmouth are a popular club whereas Spurs are a free spending, angst ridden mediocrity

i read a report that crappenham want mark hughes

no way

why would mark hughes want to come to crappenham

hands off sparky crappenham
===============================================

That is definatley the most retarded attempt at a joke i have ever read.
The most important thing for Spurs was to get through and they did that. At the moment their confidece is low and the only way to change that is by winning games. If you look at Everton they are a club with similar ambitions to Spurs and although they are higher up the table they are out of two cups. Spurs need to build on the fact that they are still in the League Cup and UEFA and if they go on a good run who knows what could happen.
They definatley have the quality and as soon as Ramos settles on his best 11 and gets a bit of consistency in his formation the will shoot up the table. Ramos is a good manager and given a bit of time will do well at Spurs, patience is what is needed.

Another poor performance in the first half followed by around 15 minmutes of OK play in the second ruined by Ranos' substitutions ...

The tactics remaind me of the Carling Cup final when we virtually invited Chelsea to lay siege to our goal in the last 20 minutes. Basically he is inept. No tactics, no man management skills nothing but endless despair. With him iun charge and with Levy and Comolli as well we ahve gone from potentially a great team to abject failures in the space of 12 months. I suppose you reap what you sow eh? And now the press are reporting that we are attempting to get Mark Hughes as our manager... as if he would leave Man City now.

LEVY please please please do the right thing and sell the club to somebody who has the professional ability to take the club in the right direction before you destroy it. Listen to the fans and take on board what Scholar and Sugar did before you and GO

Our problems are many, yes Comolli's transfers have been nothing less than appalling but what do you expect from a man who's never played the game at pub team level. Our oppo Wenger soon got rid of him when he was at Arsenal, so who's great idea was that to hire him? Why do these people even exist in the game, can anyone see Alex Ferguson being told who's being bought and sold... I don't think so. I also don't think any one else has picked up on the fact that our purchases in the last few years haven't fulfilled their potential. Hudd, Lennon, Jenas, Dawson, have added absolutely nothing to their game since their arrival. the promising squad that finished 5th successively has all but gone, our then manager Jol hindered by Comolli, get rid of him.

Have some of you Tottenham fans been living in a hole? Have you not seen what the NUFC fans have done to their club?? Ramos needs time, he will turn your fortunes around. You are a good club and a good team so please stop calling for the sacking of your board and manager otherwise you WILL end up like NUFC.

WUMs and experts in tactics contribute mightily to this board now run a hot bath and open a vein. This isn't LMA or PES.

I'm not Ramos biggest fan but Spurs are still in every competition albeit propping up the league. Once again Spurs have made far too many changes, and this year after the season started FFS. We have dismantled the best strike force in the league in the process.

It's going to take time. Spurs but should move out of the relegation zone in time but they have no divine right - if they are one of the poorest 3 teams at seasons end then they will deserve to go down. But the squad is decent - the talent is there. Mind you I would have bought Lassana Diarra before Bentley but hey ho.

They are on a decent financial footing. We are not Leeds or Newcastle. The long term prospects remain good.

Changing managers is the last thing to do. Wait until Christmas before pressing for changes. It's what should have happened to Jol. But Levy embarrassed the club with his knee jerk reaction and bungling which got us where we are.

Keep the faith.

The main problem with Spurs is that they have brought in so many new faces all at once while getting rid of the clubs top players.

Its all very well buying all these European players who played well at Euro 2008, but buying players like Modric when to be honest he is not the type of player that Spurs need at the current time. A player like Modric would only fit into a team that is already solid defensivly and at going forward, his style of play means he will not flourish at Spurs until the basics have been fixed. Spurs at the moment are nowhere near that level.

Spurs definiatly have the quality players to do very well but what needs to happen is to strip the team bare and start from the back not from the front which is what Ramos, in my opinion has done.

Spurs will survive in the Premiership this year but I do not think anything will begin to happen until at least January, that is if Ramos does not panic buy and ruin the current teams progress of learning to play with each other.

To sum up in my opinion,
Poor defence and too many new faces is what has caused Spurs' current dilema.

In 3-4 months I believe we shall see the true Spurs, and next year there will be a vast improvement.

Youv'e got to be having a laugh!. Build on..build on what. I have never seen a Spurs team play so disjointed, bereft of ideas, confidence, inspiration or ingenuity, even when tehy were going through a bad spell in recent times with MJ, they still looked like a team, (though the defence was the issue then). Maybe confidence will improve when Hutton retyrns at the back as I don't see how you can generate confidence and continuity with a defender,(King)who plays every othe game or three, it will take simply three times as long or not at all for an understanding to develop. much as I totally rate LK, we need to get rid of him, how long is this arrangement going to carry on for?. The last third is a desert of ideas, Bent though hard working and industrious is absolutley devoid of creativity, sparkle, creativity, ingenuity, thinking ahead and is just a support bread and butter 3/4th choice. A couple of games early in season we looked like we were getting lots of creativity and ball through and it just dried up up when it last third. Only Spurs would get rid of three of the best strikers in the premier, could any team survive that in one season. Look who they went to, Man U and Liverpool were not buying or chasing abroad, they were chasing Spurs players, tells its own story don't you think. So is Levy really not that bright when he heard about these decisions, bearing in mind hea has spent nothing but made a profit after the clear out. When I think where we were and the promise and expectation two or three seasons ago and Jol generated a feelgood feeling and was very likeable by all, the players wanted to play for him, don't see that with Ramos in any shap or form, in fact he looks to have physically deteriorated this season. This team if it ever gels will take ages and Ramos looking at the last 11 games or so from last season looks like he has not got a clue and now has been handed a new team which he never wanted? seems to have even less idea and this looks like it is transferrring to the players. Does levy not learn anything from the other big clubs about support for his manager and patience or is he just after the bucks?. Now is Levy between a rock and a hard place to stick with Ramos to show support but as risk of much damage?. Season started In August we are now in October and the 'team' with the exception of the Gomes don't look good

Lets not forget Wisla are the Polish champions, to get a draw on their home soil is a result whether Spurs are in a mess or not.. I know it wasn't pretty and the Premiership table speaks for itself, but when the team gels, and a Keane replacement is brought in in January we'll be on the up. Give Ramos a break - he's worth 10 mark hughes' anyday

I'm sure Ramos is a good manager and all but when open his mouth all I hear is the waiter from Faulty Towers.
