OPEN LETTER TO THE WFC BOARD

Championship Watford

Well, thank goodness someone with some clout has come out and said what we all feel!! Elton J has got it spot on and hopefully GS & MA, you are squirming!!

WHERE HAS ALL THE MONEY GONE!!!!

As a loyal Hornet fan for nearly 40 years I am disgusted with the way MY club is being run. Boothroyd and the boys have my total support and the recent performances are as a direct result of the turmoil that is being generated solely by Simpson. I hope you are satisfied GS!!!!!! You have stated for many years that you love the club, well show us fans that you do. If not you will be found out to be nothing more than a greedy businessman that was just using the club to line your own pockets. I, along with the majority of supporters are ashamed at the way you are treating our club. Yes, it is OUR club and the trust that we had in you has simply been abused.

Come on Simpson, show us what you are really about and build a future for this club, don't destroy it!!

A lot of sense on this thread. I'm glad SEJ has had his say. applause to him, for being so outspoken.
I agree that we are in danger of AB being poached/wanting out.
I think the amount GS pays himself is not 'poor management', it's something a little more insidious, I think. PLUS the money being paid back via 'loans'.

Looking forward to the board's response.

Well said Reg.

The fans, players and team manager are getting a raw deal at the moment.

It is nice to have someone who actually cares about the club and the town speaking out aginst how terribly the silver haired holiday salesman is running our beloved little club.

Thank god for this - it was clear that all the other fans were going to be ignored! I just don't think thta thye can ignore someone as high profile as Elton.

I would love to know what Mr Simpson thinks of the loyal loving fans that have followed our club through think and thin! because he shows absolutely no respect to anyone by suggesting he has the clubs best interests at heart. When the facts our clear he and the board have pocketed millions on the basis that they own the club, and not invested a penny back. When he took over the club all he saw was a money making scheme to line his own pockets. It was clear from day one that he saw very good assets in Young, King and the other strong players in the squad to sell on when the money stopped rolling in from the premiership. Be ashamed to call yourself a fan Mr Simpson and stop lying to those that are lining your pockets for you the real fans of this club!

I am disturbed by Simpsons comment that he wants to speak to Aidy. Does he seriously think the manager is talking to Elton behind his back?

I think this attitude can only have a negative affect on the playing side of the club which needs the chairman's full support.

I worry about Simpson wanting to speak to Boothroyd and am uncertain about the outcome.

Like Sir Elton John I, too, have no idea where the money from the parachute payments and the sale of leading players – mostly forwards/goal scorers – has gone.

There may be a crop of young players, but they are not ready yet and unless Watford Football Club is accepting that it needs to go through a difficult year or two before these youngsters are ready for the first team on a regular basis, then it seems that the Chairman and Board have given up. There is little or no ambition for this season other than to stave off relegation. This is something I fear is likely unless there is a change in mindset and one or two proven goal scorers are brought into the team for this season.

I understand Sir Elton’s opinion about Aidy Boothroyd, but I am luke warm about his ability to see Watford through the present situation.

One final comment, if Watford are to avoid the catastrophe that Sir Elton suggests could happen, would he (SEJ) be willing to invest in the club again? I am certain that the fans of Watford would be joyous in seeing his return. However, if that is not to be, I appreciate, as a fellow fan, his statement about the club.

If SEJ shows ANY interest, I can just imagine Simpson's eyes:
$ $
I think it may be hard for Sir Elton to pay a reasonable and realistic price for the club.
Two things in seller's favour:
a) Elton's loaded - well, loaded enough to pay £30m+
b) He's a REAL fan

I don't think it will happen, but I think the fans would definitely welcome it.
