It is indeed an off day for my club, F.C. PORTO. One might as well say that it was a walkover considering the fact that FCP with all its track records and achievements in European competitions. Arsenal won and won categorically but it is only three points, no more no less! In the return leg, PORTO will surely pay back ARSENAL in its own coins. Yes, he who laughs last laughs best. VIVA F.C.PORTO.

Porto didnt seem to have much in the tank, im certain that i have seen their keeper in the Sunday league!

An easy win for Arsenal. People were saying that Porto wont be like Hull. They were right! Hull were a much better side!

Arsenal still have much to prove.

It's a great result and there should be celebration, of course, but...as several posters have pointed out: if you can win 8-nil you should be winning 8-nil.
IMHO they would have made more of a statement if they had been clinical throughout. It's great when you can create so many chances but it would be even better if the conversion rate was higher.
I mean, what do you do in a game where the chances are few and far between - then you look back at this display and realise that you had an opportunity to practise your finishing. And if you'd taken advantage of that opportunity even if you only got a single chance to win any other game you'd be assured of taking that.
Hmm, I don't know, maybe we're being a bit too hard on them?
I guess we will all feel a lot calmer when they get back to their habitual winning ways, when blips like Hull and Fulham don't happen any more.
LOL, my aren't we hard to please!

Does this mean Hull are better than Porto?!
Seriously though, some of these European teams are rubbish. But fair play to Arsenal for getting back to form.

Apart from Denilson ( lightweight ) and lacking a big, dominant centre half ( Gallas and Toure are too similar in stature ), this Arsenal squad is good and can only get better.
I'd like to see Diaby come in alongside Fabregas when fit - the midfield/defence is too short and lightweight and they need more height and strength.
Also I'd like to see Arsenal do some more work on set pieces, both defending and attacking - again their lack of height makes them weak in both penalty boxes when it comes to free kicks/corners/Rory Delap.

Wasteful? yes, but self-doubting after a humiliating weekend? no. They came out with their morale on a low with a point to prove, that they are a force to be reckoned with. Oppurtunities were spurned, but could any true gooner be dissatified with a 4-0 whitwashing over lacklustre porto? Not even the incredible hulk could stop arsenal from running riot. The relationship between bendtner and adebayor still seems a bit rocky but apart from a few missed chances it was overall a performance to be proud of.

A fantastic Arsenal performance, if they were take more of the opportunities they make for themselves they would be unbeatable, a well deserved win.

This group of players can only get better *takeing Eboue out of the equation* lol he makes me laugh he can run in a straight line very well with the ball. ... until yesterday I never knew he could do step overs . I wanna see more from vela he looks very promising. I have a feeling toward the end of the season will be at our strongest and that's when we will get tests * if your a true gooner then keep faith it can only get better winkeye
